I only knew Charlie for a short period of time but we took a few classes together and he seemed to be a nice funny guy. I think it is very sad that he had to lose his life at such a young age.My prayers go out to his family and friends during this tough time.

I still can't believe that he's gone. I've known Charlie every since kindergarten, we were in Ms. Lewis' class. Charlie has always been a really cool guy. You will truly be missed.

I had recently gotten back in touch with charlie thru Facebook. We had conversations and we were looking forward to having a fellowship with our classmates on August 8th. The last time I talked to him I could hear the laughter in his voice and I was just glad to know he was okay. He had just left school from completing a class. I wish he was still here to fellowship with us here on earth. Today is his 29th birthday so Happy Birthday Charlie. I wish things could have been different but they aren't. I know the type of person you were and I will always remember you that way. I pray that your kids will grow to be wonderful people and will always remember the love that you had for them. Will miss you dearly and always your friend Aisha

Oh my God! My mother-in-law was asking me and my husband did we know the young people that was killed Saturday, and when she told me the names I said that they sound familiar, but I never would have thought Charlie because he was such a quiet and laid back fellow. I pray they knew the Man upstairs because that would comfort me knowing that they are in heaven. You all we need to stay on our knees praying for our race as a whole, especially the young as well as the old. My prayer is that God will comfort their families in their time of bereavement.

I am so saddened by this situation. I have been in a state of depression since hearing about it. Charlie was the sweetest young man. I remember laughing with him in class and in the lunchroom; he had a smile that you would never forget. His smile reminds you of that of an innocent child. I was so overjoyed to see Charlie again on Facebook, because I hadn’t seen him in years. He seemed so happy the weeks leading up to his death; he was anticipating his 29th birthday. R.I.P Charlie, Gone But Most Definitely Not Forgotten!

Charlie was my neighbor growing up and we used to fix bikes all the time. It's a shame his life had to end short of him trying to do something better for himself and family but my prayers will be with his surviving children and grandparents.

Charlie i am so sorry that this happened. I remember u as the quiet but yet crazy classmate that baby boy put out everyday. I pray that your children and survivors can eventually cope with losing you. I pray that God looks out for them.
