I remember Lynn mostly from the eighth grade at Lakeview. She was a lovely, slender girl whose father (a journalist with the Birmingham news) spoke to the class about his profession. Lakeviwers will recall that Ms Koon recruited lots of parents to address the class about their work.

I thought of lynn as shy, so I was surprised later when I heard that she had a part in a play at Shades Valley High School. She not only had a part; she had the title role in "Diary of Anne Frank." I went and I was astonished at her wonderful performance - I was completely conviced she was Anne Frank.  Don't think I ever expressed my admiration to her. Wish I could now.

John,  as an old Lakeview classmate. Thanks for your comments about Lynn.  I did not know she died.  Lynn was a neighbor and close friend in days before high school.  I feel very sad that I lost touch with her.   I knew she was special. Wish I had seen her stage performance.  Sounds awesome! Kind and gentle soul.  She would invite me to her home to skate, or whatever girls did back then.  I remember her father well.  He would be around in the hours after school because he worked the night shift at Bham News which worked out great to keep us out of trouble.  He always had that kind spirit and always pleasant to Lynn and her friends.

I hope you are doing well.  You were always so friendly and such a good student!  Thanks for the memories of Lynn.  Sorry you will not be at the reunion..   Jonelle Lee Grantham 08/16/19
