Old Announcements

August 8, 2019

Do you know where you're going to?

Come on, sing along, that's your class song, LOUDER, I can't hear you!

Anyway, adding a few more notes to Paul's last email and consolidating info here on the website for easy reference.

Get Ready

Study up. For those of you who lost or never had a 1979 yearbook (or used it to steady an old table four houses ago and left it there) you can access an online version by clicking here.

Earl McHugh will be hosting a practice reunion on Friday, click here for details. This way you can work on saying "you haven't changed a bit" with a straight face.

The Main Event on Saturday

7:00 pm: First Bell.

The "cafeteria" will be serving small bites. No need to sneak off to McDonald's

9:00 pm: We will attempt the impossible, assembling 100 or so slightly inebriated 58-year olds for a class picture. We will announce this. We are not quite sure about the quality of the PA system, so if you hear Charlie Brown's teacher, you will know what that's all about. Or maybe we will have Earl pull a fire alarm. If we get ambitious, we might do something crazy like take pictures by Jr. High or Elementary School (no promises).

12:30 am: Last call

1:00 am: Class dismissed

1:00 till dawn: Those wanting extra credit can gather at the National Coney Island at 1812 N Main, about a two-minute drive from D'Amato's just north of 12 Mile Road.

Money Money Money

For those not already paid, and assuming we don't get the online payment fixed, you will need to pay $50 cash money at the door. Note that there is magic ATM machine at D'Amato's.

Once you exceed your two allotted drink tickets, the bar presto/change-o becomes cash-o only. Again, there is ATM machine. Note we have warned D'Amato's that as the class of 1979, their cash machine should be well-stocked.

This is NOT the Senior Prom

Dress is "resort casual" (as opposed to "business casual") and please no corsages.

The West Porch

If anybody out there still smokes, there will be a designated smoking area just outside of the registration area downstairs.

How about a 35 year reunion?

In a few short months it will be 2014 and five years since our last reunion. We have traditionally held reunions every ten years, but some folks have asked about having one at the five year mark. What do you think? Take our survey here to voice your opinion.

Pictures, we've got pictures

We have posted a video montage of high school pictures that was looped at the reunion for all to see at their convenience. Click on Video Montage to the left (you may have to scroll down) to view or just click here.

Note that you will need to hit the play button to start the video and there is a sound track if you turn on your computer speakers. There are some small adds displayed at the bottom that can be eliminated by clicking on the little "X" in the upper right hand corner of the ad box.

Thanks to Monica Ichaustegui (FKA Monica Tysell) for putting this together.

It's not just about High School anymore

Well, no one ever said it really was, but we thought it might be interesting to collect data on where everyone went to Junior High school and Elementary school. We have added entries for these on your profile so check it out. Use the Edit Profile link to the left (you may have to scroll down) or just click here.

What do you think?

What's new? I'll tell you what's new. It's a survey about the reunion we held a few month ago. We had a lot of great informal feedback, but we thought it would be useful to give everyone a chance to voice their opinion in the form of a brief survey. So, now's your chance to make your voice heard. Either use 30 Yr Reunion link to the left or just click here to access the survey and also learn about a special offer available to survey participants.

Survey Says...

This is not the family feud, but you should have been asked to complete a short survey when signing in at the reunion. What a suprise, the results were not available at the event and even if they were, there was no way they were going to be heard. So, they are available by clicking here.
