I bought a new driver with an oversized head. It was my first experience with one of them. Hard at first to get used to it but it's getting much better with use. Now golf is getting to be fun again. :)

Just finished reading "The Help"...enjoyed it very much. Hard to believe people thought of and treated others that way. I wish I had ask my Grandma Jarke how she was treated in the 50's and 60's when working for the "Eastsiders" of Bloomington.

I also just love books with one or two word titles that are so accurately descriptive of their contents. "The Help"..."The Hustler"..."11/22/63"..."The Loop"..."Crossers"..."Disclosure"... "Prey"..."The Firm"...The Testament" (and many others by John Grisham)..."Gangster"..."The Oath"..."Monster"..."Timeline"... "Winterkill"...and on and on. Each title a very simple description of the books story line. So I have just ordered another book along those lines..."The Amateur". I'll just have to wait until I read it to see how descriptive it is.

If I ever finish my book...I hope I can come up with a title that conveys the books content in such a simple way. I guess that's one of the qualities that makes most of these authors such good writers.

Milan...Is this kind of how it feels to see and then not see the pictures...? Hmmmmm...if it is I don't think medication or a big headed driver will help.

Golf is getting better. I shot 41 on the front and 45 on the back. While that is a good score for me, the back nine is measurably easier than the front. Oh well, Good score for me. :)

This is really cool....all the pictures are normal pictures...just keep looking at the cross in the center.....not sure what causes our brains to do this.     Mike Hargie

Well we survived the Las Vegas trip. Flying was fun, except the security hit on Bob's crotch both in Peoria and Las Vegas. They had to pat him down. I actually ziplined down Fremont Street. This is a lot like Mardi Gras. There were so many people running around downtown on a Monday night that it was hard to walk through them. The light show (see the picture) attracts a lot of people and the zip line goes right under the light show. You can walk around drinking and smoking--it is a lot different from Illinois. Scantily clad go-go girls were dancing and loud music was playing all night.

My son Todd drove us around. His eyes are doing really good. The tumor was removed and it apparantly has not spread. He will have to go to UCLA in June for a last checkup and find out if he can wear his contacts any more. He took us to Hoover Dam (incredible job building that in 1931-1935). You can walk across the new highway that bypasses the dam area now. It was around 100 every day we were there. The desert is sure different from Illinois. There is dirt and rocks and mountains everywhere. Anyway, it was a fun trip.

Milan, your golf score is great. I only broke 100 once on Highland. Keep it up.

We got back around 11:00 p.m. on Friday, and I had a tennis match in Peoria at noon on Saturday. Of course it lasted over 2 hours since I wanted it to be an easy 1 hour match. We did win though, so it was worth it. I think I need to rest up for a few days to recover from my trip.

Finished framing two more pictures...One might look good in Kay's new kitchen...at least I think so.

Three more to frame in this batch.

This one for Kay...?

This one into the sale pile...
