Time & Temperature: We used to say, the Shadow knows, now we say ask Google, so I did. Since the 1960's in Bloomington, this was the number you could call for time & temperature, 309-829-0123. But in 2019, Bill Flick wrote an article in the Pantagraph saying that "this number was sadly one more for the obits." The new number is 309-347-6161 brought to you by Century Link.

I could not find the original number for time & temperature before the 1960's. It had to have been shorter than 10 digits because our home phone number on Towanda Ave. was 73430.

Saw this on Facebook today!

A group of 40 year old girlfriends discussed where they should meet for dinner. Finally , it was agreed that they should meet at the ocean view restaurant because the waiters there had tight pants and nice buns.
10 years later, at 50 years of age, the group once again discussed where they should meet for dinner. Finally it was agreed that they should meet at the ocean view restaurant because the food there was very good and the wine selection was good also.
A decade later, at the age of 60, the group once more deliberated on the dinner venue. Ultimately, they reached a consensus to gather at the ocean-view restaurant, drawn to the prospect of enjoying their meal in serene surroundings and relishing the beautiful ocean view.
10 years later, at 70 years of age ,the group once again discussed where they should meet for dinner. Finally it was agreed that they should meet at the ocean view restaurant because the restaurant was wheelchair accessible and they even had an elevator.
10 years later, at 80 years of age, the group once again discussed where they should meet for dinner. Finally it was agreed that they should meet at the ocean view restaurant because they had never been there before.

Barb, I would like to extend a big thank you for the work and time you spend on our class of 62 web site. I am sure many class mates follow the site, but don't engage. I am not on alot myself.

I appreciated you posting my birthday on Feb. 6th. I am sure I can speak for some class memebers that at times, its been a tough ride to reach 80.

There's a possibility that Marion and I may come up this summer to visit family and to get away from Texas heat. Last year over 100 days of 100 degree heat. No cars or planes for us. We will be in our 35 ft. class A Motorhome. It is our home on wheels.

I;ll make a special effort to be at Shannon;s for breakfast. BY the way, Janice, count me in for a contribution.

Two pictures of downtown Bloomington, the first is of Lawrence Rust car dealership, what is the building behind it that looks like a big house?

The next one is the Esquire Theatre, was it on Madison Street by Millers Farm Store? I went there with my family one time to see a movie, Calloway went Thataway and I remember it wasn't the cleanest place and I think we were the only ones in there.
