CARLOCK — Melvin I. Snodgrass, 69, Carlock, died at 8:52 a.m. Sunday (Sept. 22, 2013) at his home following a lengthy battle with cancer.

In accordance with his wishes, there will be no visitation or service and cremation rites have been accorded. Carmody-Flynn Williamsburg Funeral Home, Bloomington, is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Community Cancer Center or the American Heart Association.

He was born Oct. 18, 1943, in Morgantown, Ky., the son of James and Marie Logsdon Snodgrass. He married Patricia Ann Oberhart on Oct. 25, 1975, in Downs. She survives in Carlock.

Also surviving are his mother, Marie Snodgrass; two daughters, Amy (Garth) Lasater and Erin (Ethan) Steck; a stepdaughter, Michele (Darren) Sampson; two sisters, Brenda (Bob) Bauer and Sandy Munsell; a brother, Willard (Kathy) Snodgrass; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Jim Snodgrass.
