Jerry was a brilliant man. One night at Twin City dragstrip, he told me he had just made a run in his A/G Pinto and while preparing to shift, pulled the shifter and the car went into 2nd gear without effort and NOT using the clutch. The potential of having a shiftable non clutch utilizing race transmission would be revolutionary. He, over the next couple years, developed the idea to a sucessfull end. His transmissions were used in all forms of racing, including NASCAR. He is missed by many.
