In Memory

Amelia Senger (MORAN, Cavanaugh)

Amelia Senger (MORAN, Cavanaugh)

Amelia Senger (Moran) Cavanaugh died this morning, February 8, 2015.  She recently moved from Apollo Beach to Zephyrhills, Florida.  Millie had a stroke a week ago and was not expected to live beyond 5-7 days, according to her sister Helen.  Millie had just married Terry Cavanaugh a few months ago, following the death of her husband Hugh Moran.  She was a caregiver for Hugh for a number of years.  Millie enjoyed bluegrass music, antiques, and going to classic car shows and museums.

Plans are now known for two memorial services for Millie.  The information was sent today (Feb 15) from her sister Helen:

Thank you for all the special prayers and thoughts everyone has shared during this difficult time. Amelia's (Millie's) family thanks you. There will be a memorial gathering in memory of my sister in Apollo Beach at Caribbean Isles on Wednesday February 25 th at 1:00. My brother Fred is hosting a celebration of Millie's life in Mn on Sat. March 7 at 12:00.  This get-together is for the family.

I had a chance to reconnect with Millie last fall when she and her new husband Terry were traveling to visit family in Minnesota.  We had a couple of nice lengthy phone conversations when she told me about her marriage to Terry.  Millie was a caregiver to her husband Hugh, and Terry was a caregiver for his wife. The two couples were great friends.  My sympathies to all of the families involved.

Your good high school friend, Lynn Larson

I wasn't a close friend of Millie's however, I remember her as a very friendly and bubbly person.  My thoughts and prayers go out to her family and close friends.  May she rest in peace.

I was so sorry to hear about Millie Senger.  I chummed around with her in junior high school.  When I found out she lived in Sarasota, I was always tempted to get in touch with her, but never did.  She was a fun, spirited girl and a good friend back then.  Sounds as though she had a rough go of it with her husband, and then was able to find a new love after his death, only to live a short time after that.  She is now with her husband in heaven.  She is an angel now.
