Jim Soine

James Michael 'Jim' Soine

  • James Michael 'Jim' Soine

Soine, James Michael "Jim" age 75 of Bloomington. It is with the heaviest heart that we share Jim, passed away peacefully after a hard fought battle with liver disease/cancer. He was known affectionately as Jimmy, Jimbo, Dad, Papa, Brother, Uncle, mentor and good friend. He lived his life to make those around him feel his love and care with bear hugs and a kiss on the cheek. His larger than life personality was infectious and he was happiest surrounded by his family and friends. To know Jim was to love him; he will forever be missed and loved by all who met him. After 45-years in the print and graphic production industry, he retired from a career he loved. Retirement offered a life of spending days on the pontoon and evenings relaxing at the cabin. Taken from us too soon, his legacy will live on through the impact he left on all who loved him. Preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Frances Soine and in laws Leo and Florence Morris. Survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Barb "Bunny"; son Scott "Shooter" (Angie) Soine; daughter Stacey (John) Garry; Granddaughters Noelle, Avery and Emelia Soine and Grandsons Will, Gavin and Luke Garry; brother David (Gerrie) Soine; sisters Joyce Krook, Barbie (Gary) Zeimes, many nieces, nephews and life-long friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred, Funeral service Fri. Oct. 30, 11:00 am at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 1701 W. Old Shakopee Rd. Bloomington. Visitation 1 hour prior to service at the church and also Thurs. Oct. 29, 4-7pm at: Washburn-McReavy.com Werness Brothers 952-884-8145 2300 W. Old Shakopee Rd.

I am deeply surprised and saddened at the passing of Jim.  We spent a lot of time talking and having cocktails two years ago at the 55 year party in Bloomington.  Had a great time with him and Bob Grant and was looking forward to this years bash which didn't take place.  Had no idea Jim had cancer and he will be sadly missed by all who enjoyed his infectious laughter.  Will try and attend service on Thursday or Friday.  Best to family during this very difficult time.

I lost track of class mate after high school but I remember Jim from classes that we shared and he was always happy and helpful in school.  Glad to hear he had a good life.  I am also happy to say that I am married to the my wife Delores for 55 years also.

I also was very saddened to hear of the passing of Jim Soine. Jimmy was a loving man with a great smile and laugh.  He knew how to have a funtime and everyone loved him!  Jimmy was one of the first people I met when I moved to Bloomington in 4th grade. I truly believe he was one of the good guys!  It was always great to see Barb and Jim at class reunions and renew friendships.  My deepest sympathies to Barb and the entire Soine family.  Rest In Peace my Friend!!

Cliff
