The Bogalusa High School Class of 1976 committee held a meeting on July 24, 2009 at Debra Plummer's house. Those attending were: Debra Plummer, David Penton, Patricia King-Sartin, Donald Lewis, Sr., Donald Ladner, Eddie Moses, and Vicki Brown. The committee collectively chose to present two (2) options for which the class body can vote on for our 35th class reunion during Thanksgiving week in 2011. Once the votes are counted, this will give us enough time to set a pre-set dues amount. A large percent of the dues need to be paid by a designated time (TBD) before the end of 2010. Here are the options which are available for you to chose:
OPTION 1: A 3 or 4 day Gulf cruise
Leaving New Orleans for a close island getaway (TBD). Possibly somewhere in Mexico......any suggestions? (Remember, leaving from New Orleans, LA)
OPTION 2: A Four-Day LA Event
1) Thursday Evening "Meet & Greet" (after Thanksgiving dinner with family)
Venue TBD.
2) Friday Night - Banquet and Social @ Bogalusa Country Club. They can provide catering and full bar with bartender. Nice sized dance floor. 7 p.m. until.
3) Saturday - A day in New Orleans for the 2011 Southern and Grambling Bayou Classic. We would leave Bogalusa via chartered bus(es), possible tailgate prior to the game which is usually at 1 p.m. If time permits, maybe we can have a dutch-treat breakfast.. HERE'S THE BIGGIE-PLEASE MAKE NOTE*****The Bayou Classic tickets will need to be bought in blocks of 25's or 50's, so that we can sit together. For that to happen, these tickets will need to be purchased 1-2 days after the 2010 Bayou Classic. Additional tickets for children, guest, family, or friends need to be paid for on a DROP DEAD DUE DATE soon to be given, There will be NO CASH TAKEN at the bus that Saturday morning. Along with that, we will need a headcount ASAP, which includes you and your guest. We also bought up the idea of a few 15 passenger vans instead of the chartered buses. We will require that a certain percentage of your dues be paid before 2011. Therefore once 2011 begins, every venue and all accommodations will be paid in full. Please keep in mind, once we get the pricing (after the vote), the prices will be for 2009, with the possibility of a price increase by 2011,due to the unstable economy.
We will have a checking account set up at Whitney Bank(interest-bearing). Eddie Moses will check for fees.
When there are funerals which involves one of our class brothers or sisters, we will use a seperate account for flowers. This will include the immediate family members as listed below:

James Slocum (Possum) will donate a box of fish for our " Labor Day Get Together" and covered dishes are welcomed and will be accepted.
David Penton paid $100.00 for the cost of the website per year and it will be credited towards his dues.
We have $66.00 in the bank currently.
President Debra Plummer is on vacation until August 25th.

September 2009 Meeting / Socializing
There will be a planning meeting and get together during the Labor Day week-end 2009 at the home of Debra Plummer 1404 Hickory Avenue, Bogalusa, LA. The get together will be on Sunday September 6, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. until. We will hold a meeting during this time to vote on Committee Members, please come early so that we may allow time for socializing. Small donations of drinks, ice, side dish etc., are welcome. Please submit your names to one of the Class officers or to the web-site administrator prior to the September 2009 meeting. Voting will take place at the next scheduled class meeting on September 6, 2009.

Proposed Dues for Class Reunion
The Class needs to decide on the amount of dues to be collected each month. It has been suggested that $5.00 per month starting in July 2009 be the amount we charge.
It has also been suggested that we start a flower fund to honor deceased classmates and/or some family members. We need to set an amount to collect for the flower fund also. Several dollar amounts have been suggested. Please send your suggestions and they will be included in the vote during the September 2009 meeting.
In addition, we are working on a way to put PayPal on the system for those of you who would like to pay on the internet; all other please give your dues to either Donald Ladner or Eddie B. Moses. If you send them in the mail you may send them to my address for now and I'll forward to Eddie Bruce or Donald Ladner... my address is 1404 Hickory Avenue Bogalusa, LA 70427

Reported to my new job today as a Equipment Specialist. Then found out I'll be in a Budget Anayalst position. Basically, ensuring all end of year money is spent on the priorties needed. Pretty Vague hu?
