My sincerest  condolences to Joyce's family.  So sorry to hear of another one of our classmate's passing.  I  didn't know Joyce well, even though my family and I lived in Maywood since 1964.   RIP, Joyce, no more pain and suffering.

IT SEEMS FUNNY THAT IN 1961 I MOVED AWAY FROM BOGOTA AND LOST CONTACT WITH BOTH HER AND HER FAMILY. I KNOW MY MOTHER WROTE TO HER PARENTS FOR A TIME. THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN I RECEIVED A MESSEGE FROM HER THROUGH BHS CLASS OF '65' IN FEBRUARY OF THIS YEAR SAYING SHE RETIRED. AND NOW SHE IS GONE WHAT A SHAME THAT WE FINALLY  GOT IN TOUCH AFTER ALL THESE YEARS. GOD WORKS IN STRANGE WAYS, YOU GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN, MAY YOU REST WITH THE ANGELS IN PEACE.

I didn't know Joyce in high school but was inspired by her comments and photos on the reunion web site. It seems she fought her battle with cancer with courage and grace.  I'm so glad she was able to retire and take that road trip with her classic car before she lost the battle.  Deepest condolences to her family.  Barbara

Joyce was a cheerful, radiantly smiling and truly bright spot in the lives of her friends.  We shared many good times and I was saddened to learn of her having lost her courageous battle with cancer.  Joyce's strength of spirit and determination, her dignity and, in many ways, the elegance with which she fought that battle have been and will continue to be an inspiration to those of us lucky enough to have known her.  My condolences to Barbara and the rest of the family.  Joyce, rest well, without pain, and in great peace.

I haven't seen Joyce since graduation, (really haven't seen most of you since graduation). We reconnected a few years ago at a classic car show.  Shewas a very funny person. She loved taking pictures. She told me that she hoped to make our 50th reunion, so she could take so many pictures. Well she fought long and hard, never gave up. She was one of the strongest people I know. She will not be at our reunion, but she will be in our thoughts. May she rest in peace now.

Joyce may you rest in peace.  I have read so many comments and remember some great times from our High School Days.

I knew Joyce in school and she was such a nice friendly girl.  I met her a few years ago in Dressbarn shopping. At,that time she had told me about her cancer.   I wished her well and was looking forward to seeing her at our reunion.  I send my condolences to her family and I'm certain she's in Gods care in a better place.  I know I will certainly miss seeing her.

I didn;t know Joyce in high school, but met her several times  in the  past few yrs. at Nancy's parties. She was a very sweet lady and, as I see from all comments, that this was her style throughout her life. I'll remember her fondly. God bless.

Words cannot express my sadness at the passing of Joyce Finlayson.  We were classmates/buddies from School #1 (L.M. Steen School).  I greatly admired her strength in her long battle with cancer.  A few years ago I ran into her at a car show.  We took the opportunity to sit down and reminisce, talk about our dreams & hopes, and what the future might hold.  It's hard for me to believe that I won't ever get to see or talk to her again.  This makes me very sad.
