Borah High School
Class of 1976

Thank you so much for the 40th class reunion! The reunion committee did a fabulous job putting all of the events together! I know how hard it is to organize and try to please everyone!
It was so much fun seeing old friends and reminiscing! What a blessing to see so many friendships that have continued over the years. I have enjoyed every reunion but there was something extra special about this one!
Thanks for the great memories!

I would like to echo Gina's comments. Sometimes organizing these kind of events are akin to herding cats. Hats off, kudos, Bravo Zulus, and job well done to the reunion committee and volunteers. Also a big shout out to the wait staff at the dinner/dance. They were polite, attentive, and professional. Even while enduring our late 70's bubblegum music. Hopefully the price of admission included some sort of gratuity for them.

On a side note, a source told me that the event at the 10 Barrel was their biggest night of business in a long time.

Although I was unable to attend this year I do want to say thanks to everyone for posting pics, thoughts, messages and memories. It was fun to see all who attended and looks like you all had fun! Till next reunion. Ciao, Jann McConnell Todd

Announcement from Tony Gluch

As a member of our class I would like to encourage everyone to attend if possible. I didn’t participate in anything in high school that didn’t involve drugs or alcohol, (according to the senior credits in the year book, I wasn’t even there) but I have attended every reunion and enjoyed them all. According to the actuarial tables we are headed towards the dirt nap at an alarming rate. Many of us won’t make it to the next one. In fact more of us are dead, than have signed up for an event.

To me the reunion isn’t really about high school. Most of us went all the way through school together. A number of the people I would love to see are from grade school, junior high, and the neighborhood. Most of us had a lot of shared experiences during that time span. Most of us shared a first with someone along the way. First kiss first serious injury, first success, first failure, first dance, first beer; first slumber party lies to the parents, first arrest. (I still think it was ironic the Eagles were playing Desperado as they finished cuffing us and shoving us in the squad cars.)

I don’t think graduation is a requirement, nobody has ever asked me for any proof of anything academic. The resume’s they invent for me at work are much better than anything I ever earned. There are also people from junior high that went to Capitol, Bishop Kelly, or reform school, that I would enjoy reminiscing with.

Many of us are like me. I have not lived in Boise since high school, so the possibility of a chance encounter with someone from my past are slim. I’m told many people didn’t enjoy their experiences in school. Well, come and vent. Maybe the committee can come up with a cage- match format to clean up the grievances from our youth. I’ve been a smart ass and an A-hole for my whole life; I know I owe many of ya’all an apology, I will be happy to give you one.

Please help the reunion committee and contact everyone you would like to see again. I would like to think some of us have avoided the electronic world, and do not even know about the reunion.

Thanks are also in order for all the people who ran all the stuff I never thought about until my daughter was the year book editor. The clubs, year book, paper, events, reunion committee, etc. So; to all of you who toiled in anonymity. THANK YOU. Let’s go for 100 percent attendance. If you can only attend one event, the happy hour has the best attendance and the least commitment.

PS My wife is looking for a date for the reunion. She thinks this appeal places me firmly in the dork category.
