Borger High School
Class of 1967
ANNOUNCEMENTS

Hello 1967 BHS Classmates!

There was a 2 hour meeting held in Borger to brainstorm ideas about our 50th Class Reunion next year.

People in Attendance:  Janie Robertson Butler, Julie Johnson Casey, Kathy White Higgins and Lana Fraley Rich.  Several other classmates who couldn't attend this meeting have volunteered to be a part of the Reunion Team:  Some of those are:  Mike Plumlee, Sara McDaniel, Pamela Stark Purinton, Gary Crittenden, Debi Howard Saied, and Rosetta Hanna.  Julie Johnson Casey also offered to help when she is not teaching.  Please forgive me if I have overlooked anyone!  Not intentional, I can assure you!

When and where:  Friday 7/8/2016 in Borger

Reunion details discussed: Dates, Venues, Activities, Possible invitation to BHS Classes of 1965, 1966, 1968, & 1969 (and maybe to all?), and immediate need for 50th Reunion Committee Team members, especially those who live in the Borger area.

Purpose of this initial meeting:  To start the conversation about our 50th Reunion next summer and explore some options for this special Event. Several venues were discussed including Borger Country Club, the Elks Lodge (has more lighting now), the Cofield Bldg, Graced Land (3 miles East of Borger) and Frank Phillips College Conference Room.

Proposed date:  July 22, 2017 in Borger

If you have any interest in being a part of the Reunion Team, please contact Gary Crittenden or Lana Fraley Rich.  WE NEED YOUR HELP!

Remember, this will be our ONLY 50th BHS Reunion!
Please make plans to attend because our Reunions are always better when more people attend them!
Our Reunions just keep getting better and better--just like us!

Hello to all 1967 BHS graduates!

Well, it is almost time to start the countdown to our Big "5-0" Reunion!  I bet everyone would probably agree that we can't be old enough to have a 50th High School Reunion!  We might talk with someone who has had been to their 50th, but how can it be that next summer will be OUR 50th?

There are, and will always be, those people who like to go to Reunions and those who don't, for whatever reasons.  And, like most high schools classes, it is obvious our class has some of both.

Some of those who are have not attend any of the early Reunions may think to themselves, "Maybe I will go next time".  Well, if you have ever considered going to one of our FUN Reunions, this might be the time to seriously consider making plans to attend.  To date, our class has had at least 6 Reunions.  They have been fun and they seem to get better and better--just like us!

We need to begin planning our 50th Reunion by forming a Reunion Committee of at least 6 people.  Since the Reunion will be in Borger (Tentative date mid-July, 2017), we probably should have at least 2-3 members who are Borger (or Borger area) residents.  If we have more who want to help out, great!

Putting together any Reunion is a lot of work and the thing that makes all that work worthwhile is people showing up and having fun.  If you have attended one of our Reunions, you can help by reaching out to other classmates, particularly those who have not attended before, and encouraging them to attend next year.  I would like to make a special plea for those who live in the Borger area to make the effort to join us for this very special event.  There are those who travel quite a distance and incur considerable expense to attend and want to see as many of their classmates as possible, including those who live in and around Borger.  We have approximately 140 classmates still living, so let's try to have at least 100 classmates in attendance.  With guests, we should expect at least 150.

If you would like to work on the committee, please contact Gary Crittenden.  Having a current contact list of our fellow classmates is the backbone of any successful Reunion.  Gary deserves our gratitude and sincere thanks for spending his time, energy and some of his own money to keep communications going and keep our email list, etc. current.   THANK YOU, GARY!!

If you are one of the fortunate ones who are still healthy enough to travel, PLEASE consider attending our Reunion next summer!  One thing is certain--there will be more Reunions, but there won't be another 50th Reunion for our class!  This one will be the best one ever and you don't want to miss it!

All the Best,

Lana Fraley Rich

Anyone interested in brainstorming and sharing your ideas about our 50th Reunion in Borger next summer?  This is YOUR chance to give your input and share your ideas about the BIGGEST event yet for the Class of 1967!

Please consider attending a 1-1.5 hour fun meeting in Borger next week.  There are 2 dates being considered:

Thursday July 7 at 9 AM or Friday July 8 at 7 PM.

Please note that attending this meeting does NOT obligate you in any way to be on the Reunion Committee Team.  We just need ideas and feedback to jump start this wonderful event.  It is never too early to start planning it!

And, to make this Reunion the best one ever, we need at least 6-8 people to be a part of that team.  We now have 3 classmates who have already volunteered to help, but we need at least 3-4 more who live in the Borger-Amarillo area to help out.  However, we can always use more help, wherever you live!

Please reply to Gary Crittenden or Lana Fraley Rich ASAP.  Those who reply and are interested will receive a confirmation and meeting location info.

HAVE A FUN AND SAFE 4TH of JULY!  Hope to see several 1967 classmates at this initial meeting!!  WE NEED YOU!!

Special Request for Class of '67 Classmates who live in the Borger/Amarillo area:
We need to hear from you!  We have had several of our fellow classmates who live 350-1100 miles from Borger who have volunteered to help with the planning of our 50th Reunion.  That is terrific, but classmates who live in the Borger/Amarillo area are essential to our Reunion Planning Team.

Remember taxation without representation?  OK, I am not going political here, but if you choose to not to participate in the planning and/or decisions, you won't have an opportunity to share your wonderful ideas and help shape OUR 50th Reunion next summer.  WE NEED YOUR HELP AND INPUT!  I have heard nothing but incredible reports from some of the people in the Class of 1966 who just had their 50th in Borger recently.  Ours can be incredible too!!

I realize people are busy.  However, if more of us step up to the plate and help out, we can share the work load which will make it easier for everyone.

***There is going to be a 1-1.5 hour brainstorming meeting in Borger on Friday July 8, 2016 at 9:00 AM. Location info will be sent to those who can attend.  If you live in the Borger/Amarillo area, and even if you don't, please consider attending to share your thoughts and ideas.  We have to start sometime and the more time we have to put our Reunion together, the better (and easier) it will be.  If you can make it, please reply. ***

Thank you!!
