In Memory

Bill Waldroop

Bill Waldroop

It is with feelings of terrible sadness and disbelief we announce the passing of William (Bill) Waldroop on July 14, 2020 57 days after his diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. Bill was born in Mt. Vernon, WA on October 15,1946 to Marian and James Waldroop.

He is survived by his wife Janelle and their children Kelly (Jill), Casey, Melinda, Brent (Kristi), grandchildren Cydnie, Madesyn, Taylor, Logan, Jake and sister Virginia Rasmussen. He was preceded in death by his brother Gene Waldroop.

Bill had a true love for baseball and after retiring from the Auburn Police Department he went to work for the Mariners, which was pure joy for him. He loved to say "I get paid to watch baseball."

Best memories as a family~ Lake Chelan and Mazatlan with our best best friends and their families and Kauai every year for our anniversary.

He will be greatly missed for his smiles, kindness and happy nature by all who loved him. He was the best part of our family.

A celebration for Bill will be held at a later date.

I am so sorry to hear of his passing.  Bill was a great classmate and always great to be around.  I didn't get to see him again until our 50th reunion, and that was also very enjoyable.  A very kind, caring, empathetic individual.  He will be missed.  God bless his soul and God bless his family and all of his friends.

Bill's first wife was my best friend growing up.  I was suposed to be a bridesmaid in their wedding, but being a newly wed myself, couldn't afford the dress for the wedding.  We did have them over for dinner one time before they had children.  I lost touch with them after we moved out to Hood Canal but saw his ex-wife and son when they showed up at our neighborhood reunion and my Mothers 90th birthday party. I was sad to hear they had divorced.  Bill was always quiet in high school but had a lot of "guy" friends.  We have lost too many from our class to cancer.  My prayers go out to his family that they may be comforted.
