Jerry Blanchard

Jerry Blanchard

Jerry Blanchard passed away while camping in Pacific Beach on August 3, 2008. I found a full obituary on Jerry in an obituary archive of the Seattle Times. He served in the US Navy for three years, became an electrical engineer specializing in avionics, flew planes, road horses and motorcycles, camped, hiked, and boated. He was remembered as a dedicated father and loyal friend.

Thanks Sheila, hadn't seen this but it typifies the guy I knew.  Jerry Blanchard wasn't a close friend and we drifted away after BHS, but had lots in common including the fact his mom Laverne was my 5th grade teacher at Haller Lake in north Seattle.  He was always upbeat, friendly and capable, clearly raised by someone with tough standards.
