Sheila Porter (Ojendyk)

I remember Shelley as a very kind, very sweet person. I was able to contact her brother, Skip, on Facebook and got a very touching reply:

"I think about her a lot. She died of multiple myeloma, massive bone cancer, several years ago. I always remember her telling me, in high school, that her friends asked her what it was like to be Skip's sister, and she always told them that it was unbelievable. What was really "unbelievable" was having a sister as adorable and caring as her! She looked up to me, and, looking back, I didn't deserve such adoration. She was a sweetheart, and I miss her dearly."

Rest in peace, Shelley.

I remember Shelley as one of the kindest, sweetest, "smilingest" girls in our class. She always had good things to say about others, and laughed easily and often. I never heard an unkind word from her about anyone. I always felt comfortable with her, as she was so good at putting others at ease. I'm very sad to learn of her passing. Thank you, Skip, for your kind words about her, and I send my condolences to you.
