Benjamin Wadsworth

Benjamin Chapin Wadsworth 1977 ~ 2011 Benjamin Chapin Wadsworth, beloved husband, son, brother, uncle and friend passed away on May 14, 2011.Ben was born in Bountiful, Utah March 9, 1977 to John and Judy (Chapin) Wadsworth. Ben was a loving and caring husband and humanitarian that enjoyed his family and friends every day of his life. Ben is survived by his wife of nine months, Mary Ashley (Teate) Wadsworth, his parents John and Judy (Chapin) Wadsworth; three brothers, Christopher C. Wadsworth (Sarah); Richard C. Wadsworth (Alison); John C. Wadsworth (Kristine); and a sister, Jennifer (Wadsworth) Affleck (Chris). Ben is preceded in death by his older brother Jeffrey C. Wadsworth. Ben graduated from Bountiful High School in 1995 and received his undergraduate degree from the University of Utah with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish. He received his doctorate of Dental Medicine from Temple University in 2007. He was certified by the Board of Dental Examiners of Alabama and was qualified to practice dentistry on July 31, 2008. He completed his residency in Advanced Prosthodontics from the Department of Veterans Affairs from the University of Alabama-Birmingham. In 2010 he received a diploma from the University of Alabama- Birmingham School of Dentistry and the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Advanced Education in Prostho-dontics. Ben had recently opened his practice, Precision Dental-Implantology and Prosthodontics in Hoover, AL. Ben met the love of his life, Ashley, while in dental school at UAB and a year later they were married. Ben loved Ashley dearly and loved spending time outdoors with her. They also enjoyed working side-by-side in their dental practice. His greatest joy was in Ashley. Ben served a two-year LDS church mission to Uruguay and truly loved the people there. He enjoyed the Latin culture so much that he returned to Chile for a study abroad. Ben cherished the time he volunteered with the Handicap Mutual in Bountiful and spent two years with the wonderful people there. He also excelled in the scouting program and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. One of the highlights of Ben's life was traveling to Peru and hiking the Inca trail with his three brothers and his father to Machu Picchu. Ben was an incredible storyteller and could keep an audience in hysterics with the wild and true escapades he and his friends lived. Ben was creative. He loved woodworking, built furniture and once restored a town-home in Philadelphia. Ben was a goal setter and high achiever throughout his life. Ben loved to snow ski and qualified for the Snowbird Ski Team. He enjoyed soccer, mountain biking, cycling, hunting, skiing and snow-boarding. There will be a memorial service for Ben on Thursday, May 19, 2011 at The Church of the Highlands, Grants Mill, 4700 Highlands Way, Birmingham, Alabama. Visitation will be from 12:00 to 1:00 with the memorial service to follow. Pastor Buddy Champion will be presiding. The family is asking in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Benjamin Chapin Wadsworth Memorial Fund at any America First Credit Union.
