David Lee Veach

Bowen, Illinois, David Lee Veach, 61, of Republic, Mo.,fought a courageous battle with cancer up to the very end of his life, and went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday March 8, 2014, surrounded by the people who loved him the most.

David was born June 25, 1952 to Leroy and Wilma (Schoch) Veach of Bowen.

David had a strong faith in God and his family was the focus of his life. David will be greatly missed by his family  and the many friends he loved with all his heart. He was a skilled athlete who excelled at baseball, and basketball and will always be remembered as a star pitcher and a great hitter by all who played the game with him. David loved the Beatles, the Atlanta Braves, and NCAA basketball.

David is survived by his wife Susan (Kerbach) Veach, his children, Joel (Jennie) Veach of Gilbert, Arizona, and Jenna (Joey) Eslick of Republic; and his grandchildren, Ava and Archer Eslick and Ezra Veach. And siblings Danny (Holly) Veach of Golden, Cyndi (Tom) Bigham of Rushville, and Susan  Veach and companion Aubrey Hageman and Wes Hudson.

David was preceded in death by his mother Wilma, and a nephew Richard Barber I'll.

Services: Cremation rights have been accorded and a celebration of his life will be held at a later date in Quincy for the family and friends.
