If we could measure the love that is felt for somebody based on the turnout for their funeral and the efforts people made to attend, then Chris Vogel left this world with an amount that will comfort him for eternity.

Seeing the amount of old friends, alumni, & neighbors from yesteryear at St Pius X (Bowie) yesterday for Chris`s funeral service was touching. It truly exemplified the affect that Chris`s life had on so many of us. The distance that many traveled to be there was obviously not an obstacle for the many that needed to say "goodbye". I am sure that the Vogel family truly felt the warmth and love of the words and stories shared by many at the mass/reception.

Chris Adomanis` touching eulogy brought laughter and tears to the congregation as we all retreated in our minds to our own personal "stories" about Chris and his humorous antics.

Except for the reason behind our impromptu reunion, it was great to see so many people I care for even if we are seperated by miles, months, and the many commitments of our everyday lives.

We all left yesterday promising to keep in touch and not waiting for another funeral or reunion to gather us together.....sadly, those promises are rarely kept.

Keep in touch...
Love to you all,
Tom Arnold

Hey gang!

This email was sent to me by Chris Vogel's wife, Cindy. In his honor, I am posting this for her and their kids. I already am expecting that the weekend of August 1st will be filled with classmates reminiscing, our laughter, and possibly some tears, but, I am comforted knowing that many stories will surely "star" Chris and his eternal smile & laughter. These will never be extinguished from our thoughts no matter how many years seperate us from those innocent, yet so very important, years of youth and growing up...We all love and still miss you Chris!

Subject Thank you for post about Chris

Tom,
This is a very overdue thank you for your post about Chris' funeral. Jimmy Vogel had sent me the link to the website when you posted it in 2006. It meant so much to me to have so many of Chris' high school friends at the wake and funeral. It was good for my children to see how many people loved their dad... remember his good qualities and wanted to shared stories and pictures. We were overwhelmed by the kindness and support of so many people... especially his high school friends. It is the life long friends that often help get us through the difficult times. Please pass on our family's appreciation to Chris' classmates for their kindness and support after Chris' death. It was nice to see his picture (with his smile)on your page. Today, July 7th, would have been his 48th birthday...
Thank you again and I hope that you enjoy the reunion. I'd like to think he'll be smiling down on all of you.

Cindy
