Nancy McWatters

Nancy McWatters, 72, lost a courageous battle with aggressive cancer on July 2, 2021. She died at Manatee Memorial Hospital in Bradenton Florida with her husband by her side. She was born on August 7, 1948 in Phoenix Arizona to the late William and Ann (Carnaghi) Gebauer.

Nancy graduated St. Paul High School Grossepointe in 1966; and later in adulthood earned a college degree from Oakland University. She worked for many years as an Accounting Training Consultant for Emphasys Software while finding time to give back to her community. Nancy was an acting board member of Summertree Residential Centers for 19 years; and most recently had served as Treasurer. She was also a longtime member of the East Jordan Lioness Club and served as President in 2008. During her winters in Bradenton, she was involved with fundraising efforts and Walkathon for the Southeastern Guide Dog non-profit of Manatee County FL. Nancy's great loves included her family, cooking, gardening, camping, reading, and winters enjoying the sunshine of Bradenton.

Nancy is survived by her husband Buck McWatters; sons, Eric, Stephen (wife Becky) and Michael Dionne; step sons Jeremy (wife, Kristie), Nathan and Patrick (wife, Tracey) McWatters; brother Paul Gebauer; niece Lisa Gebauer; nephew Jason Gebauer; grandchildren, Chantelle (husband Warren) Gero, Brent Dionne, Jordan (wife, Kayla) Dionne, Aubree Dionne, Wyatt Dionne, Caitlyn McWatters, Christopher McWatters, Tacoroy Cory, Houston Spencer, Kaysci McWatters, Hadleigh McWatters, Harlow McWatters, Marissa Albro-McWatters and Hayden Albro-McWatters; great grandchildren Cameron Dionne, Easton McCoy and Willow Dionne.

Nancy was a kind and loving soul. She is forever greatly loved and will be deeply missed.

A memorial service celebrating Nancy's life will begin at 11:00 am Thursday, September 16 at Lighthouse Missionary Church in East Jordan with Pastor Bart Adams officiating. Immediately following the service, a luncheon will be served.
