Chad,
I already have a partner lined up but thanks. It sounds like I live very close to where you grew up. I am back towards 371 about 1/4 mile from the access. We have been there 9 years now. North Long is a great lake for swimming and fishing but shallow around the shoreline, long dock needed! Do you have a boat to use or are you looking for a partner with a boat? Jamie just emailed me and said he is not fishing but Jackie Baier and her hubby are fishing now. It would be nice to get a few more boats. Maybe people will just come out for the weigh in at the Merrifield access at 12:30 and hang out for a bit while you weigh in your giant fish? Later, Mike

Allrighty then, I guess I was going by that ? by yer name on the page that lists the teams, might wanna change that, unless of course it's a secret, a ringer that ya don't want anybody to know about, like maybe the real Roland Martin perhaps, or Babe Winkleman. He's still a local right? Well as far as me bringin a boat....in case ya haven't read my profile, I'll be comin from AZ, n I don't have a boat, but hey wait I did recently acquire an 83 Trans Am that I'm trying to sling on craigslist, and kept the options open for any trades, in which a lady did inquire if I was interested in trading for a boat, with a trailer, and a 50 hp Evinrude, but even if I did hurry up n take her up on that offer, I'm not quite sure that I would be able to check it on the plane as luggage? As I have already purchased my tickets, hmmmmm.....let's see.....however, I do know somebody who might have access to a boat, possibly even some fishing gear, I'll hafta get ahold of ex-wife #1 again, n see if my ex-brother in law is busy that morning n if he would be interested in a lil tourney action, you might know him, his name is Dan, well aka Reggie, but his real name is Danny Lindner, I think he might even know a thing or 2 about fishing? I'll hafta find out if he's interested and/or available, he's a pretty busy guy I think, but he might be up for it if he's got time? I'll hafta get back to ya on that 1, I'll keep ya posted! See ya in a couple weeks! B-D
Oh yeah, n that dock thing on North Long, YEP definately need a REAL LONG 1, one a my fondest memories of growin up on that lake was putting that dock in and takin it out every year, all 25+ sections, or somethin like that, it was what seemed like a fricken city block long back then, I dunno what I looked forward to more, that or raking leaves every fall and spring!

Chad,
I talk to Dan fairly often. We are actually working together on a charity fishing tournament. He would be a fun fishing partner for you but he is also very busy.
Is that Trans-AM like the one Adam Sandler drove when he was wearing that REO Speedwagon shirt in Billy Madison? Maybe you should pull up to the reunion with that, go oldschool! See you in a few weekends. -Mike

Yeah I know, he's always been a pretty busy guy, n hell fact of the matter is I dunno if he'd even be interested in fishin with me if he was available, I mean we've never been at odds or anything and for the most part we've always got along, it's just that it's been a while since I've seen or even talked to him, since moving to AZ. Danny is a great guy, love em to death, he's always been kinda like the little brother I never had, well I guess he was my brother in law for a very brief time, but even prior to actually getting married to his sister Lisa we always shared a pretty good relationship. Cool thing about Reggie is that even after Lisa n I divorced, years later when I moved back to Brainerd for a while, time and/or what happened between his sister and I hadn't changed a thing. That's cool that you guys are involved like that, like I said he's a great guy! His sister had read my profile a lil while back n was kinda shocked at what she read, apparently she's never really quit somewhat keeping tabs on me through out the years, and she was even so compelled to call me about a month or so ago, shocked the shit outa me, anyway so this morning I browsed thru my T-mobile bills to find her # so I could get his #, told her what was up n gave her the option of either getting his number to me or asking him herself n having him call me either way, unfortunately after leaving a vm and sending a text, I have yet to hear back from her. I mean it's been less than 12 hrs ago so who knows she may have not even received the msgs yet or maybe I pissed her off some how when we did speak, I dunno, guess I'll just hafta wait n see, but hey since yer in touch with him maybe you could hit him up for me, have him gimme a call if he's interested, or who knows maybe he'll just laugh n say whatever, I dunno. Like I said he was just the 1st person to pop into my mind, actually kind of a long shot perhaps, but who knows, never know till ya ask right! As far as the TA goes, can't say that I remember that part on Billy Madison, or the rest of the movie for that matter, I think I saw it!? Anyway, it's 1 a those 1z with the pop up headlights, but it's got issues man, I just got it a couple weeks ago n have only driven it once n that was a 6 mile round trip to where I work n back home, n all the way home I was hoping I would make it,,,lol Besides that, as I mentioned I already got my tickets and to tell ya the truth, yeah it would be kinda cool, but the gas alone would probably cost me 5x what I paid to fly, not to mention the time factor! The quickest I've made that trip in a car is 26 hrs, I was solo n stopped to sleep once for like 2 hrs, I was makin pretty good time! I'm hoping that Justin Boltz shows up in his TA, he still has that 1 he had in high school, and that's even older school, like a 76, n he's taken damn good care of it over the years, I even built a system for it about 8 or 9 yrs ago or so when I was workin at that Radio Shack in Baxter! (good times) Anyway yeah if you could hit up Reg for me that would be cool, other than him I'm not sure who else I would even ask, so I might just be at the weigh in, who knows! Ok...thanx Mike, gotta bounce, get back to work, later dude!

Does anyone know the menu for the evening? Will everyone fit in Prairie Bay? Is there any entertainment planned? That should be listed on the website. Just a thought.

07/13/09 05:26 PM #24

Chad Frisell

Hey Mike, I talked to Danny, he said he would be outa town on the day of the tourney! Anyway so I guess I'm kinda SOL, you would shit though if I came to the weigh in with the winning catch w/o having access to a boat or a partner huh?

Anyone know what the agenda for Saturday night is?

07/24/09 02:08 AM #26

Darren Cox

Here are the answers to some of the questions above: -They are roasting a Pig or 2 -There will be wood oven roasted pizzas all night. -There is a sushi bar -There are going to be veggie platters -There will be a huge build-your-own Bruschetta bar -Ummmm... Pulled pork sandwiches. -A huge desert table ...I can't remember what else, but I'm sure there are things I'm forgetting. As for the agenda:There isn't really a formal agenda. Here's what we DO Have -At some point in the evening we will do a sort of welcome/ toast. -We have a DJ coming and he will be playing music throughout the evening in a huge party tent set just behind the restaurant. -There will be a ton of 80's/high school memorabilia. -There is a looping photo slide-show. -We have the Grad blast video that will be playing on one of the many screens. The way we (the planning committee)approached this evening was that we didn't want to get in the way of people re-connecting and renewing friendships by adding a bunch of arbitrary garbage that could detract from the experience of just hanging out with old friends. The bottom line is that the food will be awesome, the music will be cheesy (but...then...it was kind of cheesy even then) but the good memories you are hoping to re-live and faded relationships that you are hoping to re-kindle are there for you. This is a reunion, but it is also an opportunity. I, for one, will be taking advantage of it because there have been too many times, over the last 20 years, that I have wished that I would have done more the first time around. So, come, have fun, leave it all on the floor (so-to-speak) and make your own great experience!

So did everybody have a good time last nite? I know that I did! As for those of you who approached me and enjoyed my profile in 1 way or another, and made it a point to let me know, even thank me,(???) well I appreciate the things you had to say, and you know who you are. As for those of you who read my profile, and didn't bother to say anything just look at me n laughed, I can appreciate that as well and ya know who you are too. I'm really kinda shocked by how many people actually read it, I mean I figured there would MAYBE be a handful of people if that, that would even click on my name, let alone react to it by tellin others " hey, hey comere ya GOTTA read this..." to me that's just too funny. I was a lil apprehensive when I first arrived not quite knowing what to expect as I'm sure so many others were too, but in the end it ended up being 1 of those nites that just seemed to end too soon, like so many other things in our lives good or bad there wasn't enough time, and so far it's blown away the 10yr in my opinion, way better turn out n everything, and that was just the preliminary! Lookin fwd to tonite at Prarie Bay, I have so much to say, but there's that time thing ya know, and right now I gotta go jump in the shower n head up to the weigh in for the fishing tourney, see who actually showed up after last nite....lol...sure glad I didn't, when I woke up n went out for a smoke I was freezin my ass off, and I was nowhere near the water. Second thought, it's already noon n weigh in is at noon:30 then I'm gonna go check out the softball game, maybe play, so I guess I'll be savin the shower for after that n b4 PB! gotta go cya all.............

07/25/09 05:12 PM #31

Chad Frisell

Well, made it for the weigh in for the fishing tourney, n guess who won.....the Mike Guin/Dave Franzen team $60,(hmmmm? lucky or ?????)just kiddin guys good job, following a close 2nd was Heath n Randy $40, n Darec Lieble's team took 3rd $20! Hope ya guys had fun, cuz I know ya had to been freezin yer asses off early out there on the water, takes all the fun out of it for me! Then I went to check out the softball game? Couldn't tell ya much about that, seems as though there wasn't a whole lotta interest in the bat n ball thing, as for the golf tourney, guess yall will hafta hear bout that from Paul!(

07/25/09 05:47 PM #32

Chad Frisell

Oh and for those of you who seem to think I should write a book, even become the Irma Bombeck of dudes, (I still gotta google her n see if that was a compliment or not) just kiddin Molly, I'm not quite sure how I'm gonna go about it just yet, but several people have suggested it now, so I've come up with a title for the book, It'll be titled Disfunktional! Except with a backwards K, so if ya been waiting on the continuation, well yer gonna hafta wait for the book, or perhaps follow it online. I think that I will write it and make it available (for a small fee perhaps)on Facebook or ?, However, as to protect my own, and others anonymity, I will be using nobody's real name, (wouldn't wanna incriminate myself or anybody else) as, like the book "A Million Little Pieces" was spose to be, it will be all the truth the best that I can recall, it will be raw, it will be a ride, last but not least it will be my life! If ya haven't read A Million Little Pieces, who's author was actually invited onto Oprah's show before she and everybody else found out that it was all a lie, but spose to be a true story (I think he got himself in some trouble over that, kinda fraudulent), do yourself a favor and pick it up, it's a good read anyway! Like that book I believe that if ya follow or read mine it'll probably send ya for some loops, and will make ya feel just about every emotion there is. If it makes it to publication, (Jenny....that's where yer 10% will really be earned) or if ya look for it on facebook, which I currently am not on but shall be shortly, I will be assuming/writing under the name Fritz Riley! Fritz is the only nickname that ever stuck on me while in the Navy or ever for that matter & Riley would be my actual middle name, which is how I will most likely go about nameing others, without revealing their true identity, but if they read it, trust me, they'll know who they are! So....if ya look for me on facebook, look for Fritz Riley, I'll be opening that page soon. Ya know, in this great big world of millions of people, I am nobody to most, no kinda celebrity by any means, just a regular guy who, I go out on a limb n say, has been there done that, or at least alot of it! Who knows what'll happen with the book, might not even make it to publication (JEN?), and if it does may not even sell a single copy, or it could go the other way, n be the break I been lookin for!? We shall see!

YES! thanks again for all your hardwork guys! the event was very well put together and really nice! i'm sorry i missed out on the bada bing event but i'm afraid this old ladies liver probably couldn't handle 2 days in a row. :)
it was really nice to see so many who've found their niches in life and are truly happy!!

07/27/09 03:23 PM #35

Deb Sweet (Ryan)

Well, Chad I think you have the beginning of your book! :-) It was nice to see so many of you at BadaBings! Sorry we missed Sat night. Pete had the semi-pro football league championship game. Wouldn't miss that for the world!!! It was nice to catch up. And to see the girls ALL aged very well!! And the guys too, but us girls looked good! See you all in updated pics and in another 5 years!! 10 years is too long!

07/27/09 10:59 PM #36

Chad Frisell

Yep, it's me again, Heath invited me for dinner 2nite, Monday after the reunion, of course the reunion was pretty much main topic of conversation. Heath doesn't have a computer yet, n is amazed that you can have 1 to carry around! So therefore has been unable to contribute as much as he would have like to, so without further adue, I give to you Heath Foss and his comments about the wknd n how good the ladies were lookin.............He will be in the next post! I give you Heath.......................

07/27/09 11:41 PM #37

Chad Frisell

First of all Chad is a butthead, but yes I thought the reunion was a good time and went too fast! It was good to see that everyone was looking good, I think that some people found the fountain of youth and kept it a secret during home room, and thought the reunion was done in good taste. It was too bad some people didn't make it, there was alota people yet to see, n where the hell is Rob Gebhart? I know he's in town somewhere.......but it was good to chat with everyone. High school was alota fun, I sometimes wish I could go back n visit that again, but we're not punk kids anymore. I think Mike Guin's fish looked tired from being tied down to the bottom of the lake for 2 days, they didn't even have any color on there skin anymore , and also looked tired from trying to escape. If they wanna do it again next year, sounds doable! It was a wet ass, nut freezing good time. It was nice to see that alota people showed up n that people committed to it. Would like to see any of the pictures that were taken on either night, and see feedback from more people on this forum. Hope this site stays up for future use. But yes I had Chad come over for bbq chicken n augratin potatoes before he heads home tomorrow. Me in Chad always try to stay in contact or he gets a hold of me when he's in town. So anyway me n Chad got on the computer, n thought I should comment and thank the committee, it was fun! 5 years sounds good. Talk to ya later!!!!!

Heath "fucken" Foss...hahahaha..

It was a very good reunion. I agree that a reunion in five years is a good idea. I want to see Chad's book completed by than. Maybe when the next reunion rolls around I will be able to attend.

07/29/09 02:20 AM #39

Dion Smolik

Greetings to all. first things first. Would like to thank the reunion organizers for a excellent job on the weekend. Food was very good and the references to the past were very fun(forgot a lot of things had happened that year)

Next would like to think we had the best class ever. I am happy to hear that everyone is doing so well. The updates on families ,careers, goals. Everyone should take great pride in themselves.
Finally asports update (Golf) The wind was blustery, the rain penetrating the skin like ice. Wait that was Tom Watson in Scotland last week. I finished the day with my best score ever at Legecy a 113. I placed 4th so I was pleased with my performance. The course was very nice. It may never recover from the divit I left on 5 the ducks liked the pooling water in it) The where many stories swapped and some shots that I had never seen before. PLenty of sand for everyone(bunkers) One person hit a 3 iron off a oak tree for negative 30 yards(me). Had a wonderful time thanks Paul
Finally the last thought out of my mind for the day....
Grass or sidewalk..? I prefer the grass. Its the path less traveled.
Goodluck to everyone, be well.

My eyes have turned back to white. no more bloodshot. And my liver and kidneys have started to work again three days after. Had fun catch'n up with most of you. five years is the way to go.

07/30/09 03:27 PM #41

Dusty Damlo (Koob)

Hey Everyone! I have been talking to a few people and the concensus is to have the next reunion at a resort in the area. The thinking is that we should because then we stayed in hotels anyway so we'd be able to stay on site. We'd be able to bring our boats which could stay on site. We could hire music and have an actual pig roast. It would be alot safer and fun to stay at the resort. The classmates would all be together for the weekend and probably wouldnt cost much more if any more. Let me know what you all think...

08/11/09 12:35 PM #42

Kathi-Jo Kackman

i really like the idea! it would be nice to have an all inclusive sort of situation. i could see bonfires, fishing, tubing, etc...
