Kathleen Warsaw (Semenchuk)

Kathleen Warsaw (Semenchuk)

Kathleen C. (Warsaw) Semenchuk, 69, of Middletown (formerly of Hull, MA), died Thursday, August 4, 2016 at Newport Hospital after a courageous battle with Cancer (Multiple Myeloma).

She was the loving partner of the late Harry L. Walker Jr for over 30 years.

Born on April 14, 1947 in Brockton, MA, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Margaret (Smith) Warsaw. Kathie worked for many years as an Administrative Assistant in Boston, within the court system, the financial industry, and most recently in the environmental industry. She was very artistic-always painting or crafting. She got creative inspiration through her love of travel. Some of her travel highlights were yearly trips she took with Harry to Cancun, Mexico and Hot Air Ballooning adventures from venues around the world.

Kathie loved her community and could always be found at one of the numerous charity organization events on Aquidneck Island.

Kathie was especially proud of her association with the Lady Hibernians. A member of the Ladies Ancient Order of the Hibernians since 2007, she has held a number of positions, including historian and most recently, two years as the President of the Order. She was very active in supporting all of their charitable causes.

Kathie was part of the Hillside Charitable Organization, and devoted many hours of her time and artistic talents to their fundraisers.

Kathie and Harry loved the beach and she became a member of his beloved Newport Polar Bear Club. Kathie was dedicated to and instrumental in raising funds for "A Wish Come True" at the annual Polar Bear New Year's Day swim.

Kathie was a member of the Newport Elks Lodge and was active in their fundraising efforts, as well.

An avid New England sports fan, Kathie was especially fond of the Red Sox and "Big Papi".

So many of Kathie's friends have been touched by her thoughtfulness, whether it was a home baked goodie or a beautiful personally crafted greeting card, she would always let you know you were special.

She will be greatly missed by her family and friends throughout the community.

Her friends meant the world to her, they were the most important thing in her life. She and her family are very thankful for all of the support of her friends, especially throughout these past difficult years.

She is survived by her daughter, Dawn Semenchuk, her brother Francis Warsaw and his wife Karen of Braintree, MA, her sister Ann Smalley of Rockland, MA and her nephews and nieces, Kevin Warsaw, Brian Penpraese, Ray Smalley, Diane Penpraese, Margaret Warsaw and Carolyn Warsaw.

She was the sister of the late Paul Warsaw, and his surviving wife Lynne of Florida.
