John Spencer Welsh, 52, of East Putney Falls Road, Putney, Vt., died on Oct. 13, 1999 at his home following a lengthy illness.  John was born on May 4, 1947 in Dorchester, Ma., the son of Robert V. and Grace (Driscoll) Welsh.  Survivors include a son, John C. Welsh of Putney; a brother, Robert V. Welsh of Cutler, Maine; his father of Yarmouth, Ma. and two nephews.  

In addition to Braintree, he lived in Florida and in Putney, Vt.  He graduated from Springfield College. 

In lieu of flowers it is suggested that everyone play a round of golf in John's memory.
