Carolyn Sue Bond Rye

Donald was the love of my life. We were married on September 28, 1962 and had 3 beautiful children. He was a fun loving person. He was diagnosed with a severe heart condition at the age of 26. He had a 4 way bypass at the Texas Heart Institue, in Houston, TX in 1979 and retired from Civil Service. He loved to fish, hunt, drink beer with his friends and spend time with his family. He was put on the donor list for a heart transplant and was sent to the Medical College of Virginia, in 1983. Survival rate was only 30 percent. He elected not to accept the heart and came home in April, 1984 to spend his remaining time with his wife and kids. He died on Friday, April 13, 1984.
