Website How-To's

When you first sign on, click on Member Profiles.  You will see a list of family members.  Women are alphabetized by maiden name.  Click on your name and if this is the first time you have signed in, it will ask if you are that person.  If you are, go ahead and fill in your contact information, add photos, etc.  Don't forget to save your new profile information.  Once you put in an email address, the site will expect you to sign in from that address in the future.  
 
The Comments Section under your profile is where you can provide a little information about yourself and what you are doing.  You can make it as long or as short as you want.  Do you have a personal or business website you would like other family members to know about?  Put the website address in your comments section (the www. mysite.com/ address) and send the Administrator (click on Contact Us) a message that you have have added a website to your comments section.  The Administrator can turn the address into a hyperlink.  For samples see Gretchen Bowder's and bottom of Diane Hilton O'Connor's comments.  (note the Administrator needs the actual web URL to turn it into a link like these).  
 
Parents, you can add info to your children's profiles if they are too young, or don't want to do it themselves.   You may need to use a separate password for each separate identity.   Do you have a parent or sibling who doesn't have email?  Ask them if they would like you to add their information/photos to the website.  You may have to put your own email address in these sites.  If you have any problems, click on the Contact Us bar and send the Administrator a message. 
 
When you add photos to your profile, you may want to resize them first.  You cannot change the size once they are added to your profile.  If they are too large or too small, you will need to delete them, resize them on your computer, and upload them again.   
 
If you want to add more information and/or photos later, Click on the Edit Contact Info, the Edit Profile and/or Edit/Upload Photos bars under Member Functions on the left. Click on the save button to save any new information/photos you add.   
 
The In Memory section is a place you can add your memories about the deceased person.  Just click on the Post Response button.   If you want to add or change information the Administrator has put in the "In Memory" profiles, use the Contact Us bar to send the information or correction.  

You'll see some profiles, like Diane's, have a "yearbook" photo.  These photos can only be added by the Site Administrator (that's Diane) and she  has only added those she had available.  Email her a yearbook-type photo of you to doc@tidewater.net and she will add it to your profile.  For the kids, send a school or baby photo.
