October 26, 1956 ~ July 3, 2017

Byron Dean (Bia Wooda) Timbimboo, 60, escaped the bondage of his physical being and entered the spiritual realm of his forefathers on Monday, July 3, 2017. He had not been feeling well, but cause of death is undetermined at this time.

Byron was born in Ogden, Utah, on October 26, 1956, to Frank and Helen (Pubigee) Timbimboo. He married Kristy Rice on July 13, 1985, in Teton National Park at the Chapel of the Transfiguration, with God's glorious Teton Mountains as their backdrop, to which they returned many times to honor their marriage.

Byron was raised in Layton, Utah, his first eight years and then moved with his family to Brigham City, Utah, where he resided the rest of his life. He attended Brigham City schools, graduating from Box Elder High School in 1974. He continued his education at Salt Lake Community College where he earned an Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) Degree in Drafting and Design Technology.

Byron was employed as a draftsman by Thiokol Corporation in 1979 and, except for a short interruption in service, spent his career there as an engineering designer until his death. He was awarded many honors over the years, including Manned Flight Awareness recognition and, the highest of all, a Silver Snoopy for the work he did.

Byron was a member of the Northwestern Band of Shoshone, where he was actively serving on the Tribal Council. It was his desire that all tribal members would have the opportunity to learn and grow in their cultural heritage, achieving a well- balanced future as a proud Shoshone people.

He gained his mechanical knowledge while working on the family farm for many years under the tutelage of his father, where if the equipment broke down in the field, you fixed it; there was no calling anyone else in to do it for you.

Byron's many loves over the years included snow skiing, river rafting, traveling, hunting and camping. But his greatest love was reserved for his family as husband, father and grandfather. His active involvement in their lives will be sorely missed.

Byron will be especially missed by wife, Kristy; son, Hunter (Cheyenne) Timbimboo; and daughters, Nicole (Travis) Davis and Serenity Timbimboo; along with five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind sisters, Gwen Timbimboo Davis, Patty Timbimboo-Madsen; parent-in-laws, Duane and Lela Rice; and brother-in-laws, Kelly (Donna) Rice and Kreg (Tammie) Rice; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by parents, Frank and Helen; brother, Blaine Frank; sister, Debbie Orton; and brother-in-laws, Creg Orton and Michael Madsen.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude for the efforts of those employees at Orbital ATK, who came to his immediate assistance, the Orbital ATK Emergency Response Team, the staff at Bear River Hospital and the many friends and family support team.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Myers Mortuary Chapel, 205 S. 100 East, Brigham City, Utah.

Family and friends may visit on Friday, July 7, 2017, from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday, July 8, 2017, prior to the service from 10 to 10:40 a.m. at the Mortuary.

Interment will be in the Brigham City Cemetery.
