Mickie Coxen (Taylor)

Michaelena “Mickie” Coxen Taylor, 43, died Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2014, in Broken Arrow. She was born Feb. 16, 1971, in Tulsa, the daughter of Jim and Annetta Fink Coxen. She was a 1989 graduate of Broken Arrow High School. She received a bachelor’s of science degree from the University of Oklahoma, and a master’s degree in environmental management from NSU. She was the vice president of governmental affairs for the Broken Arrow Chamber of Commerce. She played a crucial role in many developments in Broken Arrow and helped facilitate a number of economic development initiatives during her time with the Broken Arrow Chamber.

She was preceded in death by her mother.

She is survived by sons, Bryce Taylor and Garrett Taylor of Broken Arrow; father, Jim Coxen of Broken Arrow; sisters, Cara and husband Dennis Schachtlie and Kirsten Coxen, Broken Arrow.

Memorial Services were Monday, Dec. 22, 2014, at The Assembly in Broken Arrow with Sen. Rick Brinkley will officiate under the direction of Hayhurst Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the Margaret Hudson Program,  Mickie Taylor Scholarship Fund, 751 W. Knoxville,  Broken Arrow,  OK , 74012.
