I feel compelled to post a comment in regards to Becky's passing. Not because we were great friends, or even friends at all for that matter. But to make it known that her passing was totally avoidable and sensless. Becky was an innocent victim of an alcohol related accident. I distantly witnessed this accident and saw first hand, what caused this. Any of you that have children (no matter the age) that you have shared with them, the joy you have gotten from reading our Class of 90 website, please pause for a moment, and talk to them about the dangers of drinking and driving.
Becky was in my Geology class. I remember her as a very sweet girl who played in the band. She was very shy and had a crush on my lab partner. The week she was killed one of the guys in that class was giving her a hard time and being rude to her. I saw her later that day in the office on the phone with her mother, crying. The next day, the same jerk started in on her and her "crush" who was a very stand up guy, told the jerk to shut up and leave her alone! I don't think she ever had anyone stand up for her like that and for someone she already had a big crush on, to come to her rescue, was a big deal for her! She was floating on cloud nine the rest of the day. I talked to her about it in class that Friday she was killed. When I found out how senslessly she was taken, I was so grateful that she had that moment with the guy she liked so much. Kelli (David) Parker
Becky was a friend. A true friend. We did volunteer work during the summer at the zoo. We both loved animals. I was very saddened at her passing. I remember her wanting to live on a farm at some point in her life. I know she had talked about that. As someone who had went to school with me since the elementary years this was a very depressing loss.
But I know her, and her faith. She is in a better place today!
Becky was my best friend!! I Did something i shouldnt done !! SHe got mad at me and wouldnt talk to me!! BUt finally she DID!! We was on the bus on our way back From the Ark. football game!! and she started talking to me again!! I remember that night it was so Foggy too that u couldnt see nothing at all!! I Didnt know nothing happend untill Sunday!! my neighbor was reading her paper and asked if i knew Becky? And i said yes Y!! And i had to call Holly to see if it was true!! And it was!!! I ask, y u didnt call me and tell me about it! She ws gonna wait untill Mon morning to tell me!!! But she in a better place!! And yes David she did have a big Crush on you lol!!!
