April 22, 1961 - July 7, 2010
 Bernadette FOUBERT, beloved mother, wife, sister, Aunty, friend, nurse and mountain climber, died July 7 at her home in Renton surrounded by her entire family. She was 49. Bernadette was born in Vancover BC moved to Seattle with her family in 1968 and became a US citizen 15 years ago. She married her beloved Geoff 26 years ago and gave birth to her pride and joy, Marianna 21 years ago. Bernadette is survived by her husband Geoff, her daughter Marianna, her step son Casey and his wife Jennifer, her mother Margaret Walenkamp, her sisters Marguerite Lynch and Christine Walenkamp, nephews Lauren, Sean, and Andrew Lynch. A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 12 at Lincoln Park in West Seattle, shelter 2 (south parking lot) at 6:30 p.m.In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Patient Fund at Seattle Cancer Care Alliance.

I will miss Bernadette a lot, even though I only got to know her recently, I treasure the time I got to spend with her.
She was a sweet and caring person. Even though she was sick she was still concerned about my health and well being, and that says a lot to me about someone's character.
Bernadette's positive outlook on illness and life was an inspiration to me. It changed the way I look at my Hep-C and life. It was her who inspired me to get a small truk and get up in the mountains and start hiking again. Thank you for that....

Thank you for sending out the announcement about Bernie. We were saddened to hear of the news of her passing and very glad that she linked with JFK'ers prior to her death. She was a good and true friend while we were in High School and had and has a very great sense of humor and irony. Bernie's statuesque form gave her a unique insight into people and I would say she had an eagle's eye sense of character. We met several years post High School and I found her to be the same delightful cut up with a complete sense of compassion for her fellow human beings. Thanks Bernie for all your help and support over the years especially in French Class! Blessings to you B. You will be greatly missed. Laura

Bernadette loved those who were in her life with great caring and an open mind. She was thoughtful, loyal, funny, a realist and loved people, pets and nature. I know that she really enjoyed seeing everyone at the reunion and I think it built her up emotionally before the bone marrow transplant. She was my closest friend and I will miss her dearly, but I am thankful for all the memories we had together.

Bernie's service was beautiful, it was in Lincoln Park on a sunny Monday evening. It was well attended with friends and family from work, neighbors, patients and of course her classmates from JFK. Here is a picture from the our 30th class reunion.
