Heather was one of my very first friends in Burleson along with Noel Compos with which I remember her living behind Noel and all of us staying up late one night playing on Noel's trampoline....

I had PE with Heather that year and the week before she died I heard some of the girls saying something tacky and I remember thinking they are going to feel awefully bad if something happens to her and then she died that weekend. Alesha Barnett lived by me and came over to my house the next morning and she just kept telling me that Heather was hit by a train. I remember that her mother wore her class ring since it came in after her passing.

Ditto to Jon's post. That's my memory of her too. I remember getting the phone call that night. Couldn't believe it.

I remember sitting behind her in typing class that year. I didn't know her all that well...but, she was very nice to me...that I remember. It was hard to see that empty seat after she died. I seem to recall that Jerry Alvarado called to tell me what had happened. Is this accurate: I seem to recall hearing a lot of train horn blowing that evening prior to/after Jerry calling me.....does anyone else remember that?

Heather sat behind me in Mr. Renick's class, and she and Kimberly Wallington had a notebook that they passed back and forth with notes about how much they hated algebra. You know that when you're so young, you never really think about death taking one of your own. Heather's death hit a lot of us like a ton of bricks. She was greatly missed.
