Wanda Bartlett Walker, 71, of Burleson passed away peacefully on Sunday, Dec. 26, 2010, at home.

Service: 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church of Burleson. Interment: Laurel Land Memorial Park of Fort Worth. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Laurel Land Funeral Home of Burleson.

Wanda was born Oct. 8, 1939, in San Saba to Bill and Gladys Bartlett. Wanda was the youngest of three. She married Dale in Gatesville on Aug. 8, 1961. They had one child. She attended Tarleton State and graduated with a master's degree in education. She was a resident of Burleson for 45 years and was employed by Burleson ISD as a teacher and administrator for 32 years. Wanda was a member of First Baptist Church. She enjoyed family, friends, teaching and giving back to her community, and had a loving relationship with God.

She was preceded in death by Bill and Gladys Bartlett, Gwen Walker and Yvonne Poston of Gatesville, Bruce Walker of Gatesville and Brandon Walker of Gatesville.

Survivors: Wanda will be remembered by her loving husband, Dale; daughter, Wendi and husband, Mark Schmidt, of Fort Worth; grandson, Mason; nephews, Ronald Poston and Karen Wilkenson of Gatesville, Michael and Jessica Walker of Huntsville; brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Elva Walker; nieces, Cathy Walker, Kimmie and husband, Marvin, and Brooke and Brode DuBose of Lampasas.
