Hi everyone, it's that time again- our 45 year high school reunion!
This time around our main reunion event will be at The Chairman’s Retreat on Saturday, August 17, 2024. In addition, Kerrie (Long) Kendall has been gracious enough to host a Friday party as well. Casual dress works for both events.

Hi everyone, we're looking forward to seeing you this weekend for our 40th high school reunion! Please remember that we're changing our Friday night party venue. We will not be gathering at Billy Pinson's house.
Instead, on Friday night we'll meet at Michelle's Kitchen & Table, located at 2461 S Church Street, Burlington, NC (in building next to Blue Ribbon). Dress is still casual and time remains the same from 8-11. We will issue 2 drink tickets per person for purchase of beer or wine. We will gather in the banquet room for the evening.
We'll update with any additional changes tomorrow, so stay tuned and please let other classmates know of this new venue.
Also, please note that the Williams/ Cummings football game has been canceled for Friday due to expected rain (moved to Thursday night).
And don't forget our Saturday night 40th WHS reunion party: 6:30-10:30pm, atStarlight Meadow (map). DJ- Billy Ezzell. Cash bar. Again, dress casual this event too (no A/C),

Our classmate Bill Ginn passed away suddenly last weekend. Please keep his family- wife Deb, mother Jackie and sister Martha in your prayers.
Hi WHS Class of 79! Our next reunion is only a month away--September 12th and 13th--so please register for the festivities soon in order for us to plan the best reunion ever! Below are the details, and help us spread the word by sharing this information with other WHS '79 classmates that you're still in touch with.
Reunion events:
Friday night party (September 12) at Billy Pinson's house--Starts around 8:00(note the change in time, and click this link for directions). If you're going to the WHS football game just come over afterward. Food and drinks are provided. To help cover the significant costs for this party--which attracted over 50 people last time--we're asking $10/person this year.
Saturday night Reunion party (September 13) at the Alamance Country Club Pavilion, 7pm-Midnight.Similar to our last reunion, the cost will be $40 per person for the Reunion Party, Freddie B will be the DJ. You can pay by credit card or check (see next item). For this reunion, the heavy hors d'oeuvres will be Mexican-themed (but with a bit of non-Mexican thrown in), and we'll have a cash bar for drinks.
Becky Fowler has been helpful in organizing a block of rooms at the Best Western, and they are holding 10 rooms for the Sept. 12 weekend under "WHS 1979 reunion". The special rate for a block of rooms is $85 per night which includes a hot buffet breakfast- normal rate is $114. The cutoff date for a reservation at that price is Aug. 25. Please contact them directly if you'd like to stay there reunion weekend at this discounted rate, and book the room under "WHS 1979 reunion". There should still be some rooms available, but if not please let me know asap (hhutton@gmail.com).

Although there was talk of possibly getting together for a Saturday afternoon reunion event at the city park, very few classmates were interested in participating this time around. If anyone's willing to take on the planning for such an activity at our next reunion please let me know.

WHS Class of '79 35th Year Reunion Planning Committee

Dear WHS Class of ’79 Alumni,
Almost five years have passed since our last reunion, and many of us are thinking that we should go for a 35th class reunion. What do you think?
The Reunion Planning Committee has recently regrouped and it looks like it's workable to have a similar reunion event late this summer- a Saturday night reunion party, an informal party the night before, and possibly even a football game (optional). Everyone seemed to enjoy the way the events were arranged last time.
After reviewing some initial dates to line things up it looks like September 13th at the Club will work, and Billy Pinson once again has agreed to host a Friday night party. There is also a home football game (N. Guilford) that Friday night.
We're excited about the possibility of getting us all together again. The years go by quickly, and the last reunion was a tremendous success!

Hello everyone! I hope you're having an enjoyable summer.
I just thought I'd share some exciting news that The Fabulous Lumpsters will be performing again! The date is Friday, September 17, 2010, at the City Park Amphitheatre. Gates open at 7:30 and The Fabulous Lumpsters will begin by 8:30, and play through 11:00, or whenever Freebird ends!
Billy Pinson, Jim Frissell, and Greg Lunsford from our class…Troy Brooks (Cummings 1979), also Bobby Ellington from class of 1980. Rock n Roll and a whole lot of fun…it’ll be a hoot!
Raising money for the United Way of Alamance County. Tickets are $40, which includes heavy horsdouvres, cold beverage, and the show. Tickets can be purchased online at the United Way website, www.uwalamance.org.

Angie Burke Durrett lost her 21-year-old son, Burke, last week in a tragic electrical accident. Angie and her husband Mark live in Sumter, SC. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

Wow, what a reunion!
It was exciting to see all of you again, and it looked like everyone had a fun time. We missed those that couldn't make it, but keep an eye on the forums for the various links to photos.

Music: The DJ is Freddy “B”—playing all your 70’s favorites!
Dress: Summer casual, as we’ll mostly be outside.
Pictures: Hunt Ward will be taking personal and group photos which will be available for sale (online) after the reunion.
Donations: We'll be accepting donations for replacing the WHS sign along Church Street (more on that later).

It’s that special moment once again for us all to get together, this time for our 30th reunion! Can you believe it’s been that long?

Lastly, as you might imagine, we’ve been unable to find accurate contact information for many of our classmates. We are asking that you contact any classmates you’re still in touch with and let them know about the upcoming reunion and about the Alumni Website.
