Scott Fickel, 54, of Mount Vernon, passed away Nov. 6, 2013 in Seattle at Swedish Hospital after an unexpected brief illness.

One of his favorite songs was "I fought the law and the law won".

An avid skier and snowboarder he could often be found on Mt. Baker. Scott was an excellent cook, working in several restaurants before starting a 28 year career with UPS, retiring this past July. He was so looking forward to a stress free life of leisure, taking mom out to lunch, tending to his beautiful gardens and "Blaze" the cat. Scott was a good son and brother, a gentle soul and a loyal friend.

Preceded in death by his father Jack Fickel and is survived by his mother Rhoda Fickel, sister Molly Fickel (Tim) McCalib and many extended family.

A memorial and following reception will be held at Skagit Golf and Country Club in Burlington on Saturday, Nov. 23, at 1pm.

Scott, we will miss you and your laughter dearly and think of you often, but know that as long as we hold you in our hearts you will be with us always. So long for now and be at peace. P.S. Say hi to Jack and Sammy.
