Bow - Donald R. Fine Jr. passed away at his home surrounded by loved ones on Monday, February 27, 2023 after a six month battle with colon cancer. He was born on February 10, 1960 in China Lake, California to Don and Elaine Fine. He graduated from Burlington High School with the class of 1978. Don married Mary Powers on August 20, 1982 in Burlington.

Don worked for 25 years as a salesman for Johnson & Johnson. In 2004, he started his company Viper Bats Inc., which he ran for the past 19 years with his son Chris. Mary and Chris will continue running the family business. 

He enjoyed playing craps, hunting, traveling, reading and mentoring. He always wanted to help people be the best they could be, there is good in all people and they just need help finding it sometimes.

On November 5, 2019, Don received a double lung transplant. With family by his side, Don took his last breath with lung donor "Alex's" lungs on February 27, 2023. We will always be grateful for Alex's donation of life. 

Don is survived by his wife, Mary Fine of Burlington; son, Christopher (Amanda Damazo) Fine and grandchildren Alexander Fine of Burlington and Kailee Martin of Portland; brother, Jim (Kristie) Fine of Clear Lake; sister, Cathi (Larry) Spitser of Anacortes; sister in-law Julie (Paul) Petrzelka of Burlington; brother-in-law Steve (Carol) Powers of Arizona, brother-in-law, Geludiel Araiza Sr. and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Don and Elaine Fine; sister, Marianne Araiza and grandparents, Everett and Edith Hill and Ray and Marie Fine. 

At a later date there will be a celebration of life dinner with family. Don's wish is that we all sign up to be an organ donor. Memorial donations may be made in memory of Don to Life Center Northwest (3650 131st Ave. SE suite 200, Bellevue, WA, 98006). Arrangements are under the care of Kern Funeral Home.
