Kenneth Earl Pate, 58, of Chicora, passed away suddenly on Monday, May 18, 2015.

He was born October 25, 1956, in Butler, to the late Ernest "Ernie" W. Pate, Sr. and Martha "Fran" (Teachey) Pate.

Ken was an avid fisherman who was well known locally for his Bass fishing. He also enjoyed playing poker. He was in the Carpenters Union, Local 922. He was a member of the Moose, American Legion, Freemasons, and the Butler Basscasters Fishing Club.

Surviving are wife of 35 years, Cynthia (Iams) Pate; 3 daughters, Heather Pate, Danielle Pate and Brittany Pate; 2 brothers, Ernest W. (Betty) Pate, Jr. and Ron Pate and fiancé, Heather Plyler; 2 nieces, Jennifer (Chris) Tuft and Macie Pate; and nephew, Braden Pate.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Friends will be received at Young Funeral Home, Ltd., 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, on Thursday, May 21, 2015, from 2-4pm & 6-9pm.

A Memorial Service will be held in memory of Ken at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Ken's memory to the charity of the donor's choice.
