Christopher John Goff, 50, of Becker Road died Monday at the Good Samaritan Hospice in Cabot.
Born May 13, 1956, in Butler, he was a son of the late George E. and Anne Schafhauser Goff.
He was a 1978 graduate of Penn State University and was nearing completion of his master's degree from the University of Colorado.
Mr. Goff recently retired from the North Pittsburgh Telephone Co. as director of network engineering and operations after 28 years. He served as chair of the U.S. Telephone Association Engineering Committee and sat on the University of Pittsburgh School of Information Sciences Industry Advisory Council.
He was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church in Herman.
He enjoyed outdoor activities with his boys.
Surviving are his wife, Ruthann Heitzer Goff, whom he married Oct. 13, 1979; two sons, Benjamen and Daniel Goff, both at home; a sister, Mrs. David (Loraine) Wallace of Dunwoody, Ga.; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A brother preceded him in death.
GOFF - Friends of Christopher John Goff, who died Monday, April 2, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at noon Wednesday at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church in Herman with the Rev. Lestor Knoll, O.F.M. Cap., and the Rev. John McCloskey, O.F.M. Cap., officiating. Burial will follow at the St. Mary Cemetery.
