Terry J. Varljen

Terry J. Varljen, 47, formerly of Butler, died of natural causes Tuesday at his home in Broadview Heights, Ohio.
Born July 4, 1956, in Butler, he was a son of John J. and Shirley M. Beggs Varljen.
He was a 1974 graduate of Butler High School and attended Penn State University.
Mr. Varljen served in the Navy from 1975 to 1984 and attained the rank of petty officer first class. He maintained radar and also was a fire control maintenance technician.
Following his Naval career, he worked in the same capacity at Oxnard Naval Shipyard from 1984 to 1990 and at Seal Beach Naval Weapons Station from 1990 to 1994. He then went into design and drafting with Rockwell, then with Fisher in the Cleveland area from 1994 to 1999.
He was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler. He enjoyed target shooting, photography and computers and was an avid football fan.
Surviving are his parents of Butler; three bothers: Robert J. Varljen of Gustine, Calif., Daniel J. Varljen of East Butler and Charles J. Varljen of Frederick, Md.; a sister, Mrs. Daniel (Karen) Lewis of Butler; three nieces; a nephew; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
VARLJEN - Friends of Terry J. Varljen, who died Tuesday, April 20, 2004, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at

GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, 201 E. Cunningham St. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Burial Estates, Mount Chestnut.
The St. Paul Guild and Christian Mothers will recite the rosary at 9:35 a.m. Monday at the church.
