Clarence L. Covert

Clarence L. Covert, 77, of Butler, passed away April 22, 2023.
Clarence was born on Nov. 9, 1945, in Butler, and was the son of the late Raymond W. Covert Jr. and H. Marie Crispin Covert.
Clarence graduated from Butler High School and served in the U.S. Air Force before moving west and attending the University of Wyoming. He then worked for the Bureau of Land Management in Nevada for a number of years, returning to the Butler area in retirement.
Clarence was an avid and knowledgeable outdoorsman. In his younger years, he enjoyed racing pigeons and trapping. In his later years, he enjoyed beekeeping and rehabilitating his property in Armstrong County. He was passionate about restoring the American Chestnut tree to the local area and was proud to have the property certified as a Pennsylvania Tree Farm.
In addition to his parents, Clarence was preceded in death by his brother, Raymond Wade Covert III. He is survived by his nephew, Raymond W. Covert IV; a great-nephew; and a variety of cousins.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Seasons of Saxonburg and Monarch Hospice for their care and compassion.
COVERT - There will be no public visitation for Clarence L. Covert, who died Saturday, April 22, 2023.
Private interment in North Side Cemetery will occur at convenience of the family.
Arrangements were entrusted to THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler.
