David D. Gordon

David Gordon, 70, of Round Rock, Texas, born and raised in Butler, passed away June 1 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born March 27, 1946, to the late Clark H. Gordon and Marie (Leitz) Gordon of Renfrew. Dave was a graduate of Butler High School and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1965 to 1968.
Dave enjoyed a long and successful career in sales and sales management. He was a lifelong, passionate supporter of his Steelers. He enjoyed nature, sports, fishing, reading, gardening, travel and raising Boxer dogs. Dave loved being a Dad and was so proud of his two children, Jessica and Matthew. He also was grateful for time spent with his brother, Clark, brother-in-law, Jack, family and friends, who he loved very much.
Dave is survived by his wife of 29 years, Janet Bardin Gordon of Round Rock, Texas; his daughter, Jessica Gordon and Cullen Goike of Dallas, Texas; his son, Matthew Gordon and his wife, Rachel Bowen Gordon, of Round Rock, Texas; his brother, Clark Gordon and his wife, Kathleen Killmeyer Gordon, of Butler and Fort Myers, Fla.; two nieces, Gigi Gordon Foster and her husband, Archibald Foster III, of New York, and Cara Gordon Cotter and her husband, Christopher Cotter, of New York; his brother-in-law, Jack Bardin Jr. and his wife, Alison Towler Bardin; his nephew, Luke Bardin of Dallas, Texas; and his beautiful, beloved Boxer dog, Maggie.
Dave's great strength, determination, care for his family and friends and quick wit will be deeply missed.
GORDON - A private memorial service in honor of David Gordon, who died Wednesday, June 1, 2016, will be in Round Rock, Texas. 
The family shares heartfelt thanks for all the calls, texts, e-mails and expressions of kindness during this time.

I read Dave's obituary with a great deal of sadness but with a smile remembering all the many baseball games we played together in Meridian as kids.  I have seen Dave's brother Clark on several occasions and was able to get a snapshot of his life in Texas.  I'm glad I had the chance to do that.

My deepest sympathy to his family. I'm sure you have a lot in which to be proud.
