It is with great sadness that we have added Chad to our "In Memory" page.  He will be greatly missed by all.

MCBAIN - Chad Michael Finstrom, age 29, of McBain died from injuries he obtained in a motorcycle accident on Sept. 20, 2009.

He was born on Sept. 8, 1980 in Cadillac to Gary and Gayla (VanderPol) Finstrom. Chad had graduated from Cadillac High School and had worked as a certified mechanic for Midas Muffler Shop in Cadillac for more than 13 years.

He enjoyed riding his Harley and loved anything that had wheels. He loved farming and enjoyed deer hunting and fishing. Chad loved to be with his brothers and his friends. The pride of this life was his son, Logan Michael, and he totally cherished him.

Survivors include his fiance, Jennifer Priestley of McBain; son, Logan Michael Finstrom at home; stepdaughter, Alexis Farr at home; parents, Gary A. and Gayla R. (VanderPol) Finstrom of Cadillac; brothers, Ryan and Sarah Finstrom of Roscommon, and Troy Finstrom of McBain; paternal grandmother, Lois Finstrom of Cadillac; maternal grandparents, Don and Irene VanderPol of Marion; uncles and aunts, Keith and Dottie VanderPol of Rockford, Joyce and Mike Oatley of Cadillac, Doyle and Susie VanderPol of Cadillac, and Greg and Connie Finstrom of McBain; niece and nephew, Ryland Grace and Brandt Harold Finstrom of Roscommon; father-in-law and mother-in-law to be, Jeff and Ellie Priestley of Marion; grandparents-in-law to be, Bill and Mary Lou Priestley of Marion; and a multitude of relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by Grandpa Harold Finstrom and Uncle Dennis Priestley.

Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Lucas Rehoboth Reformed Church, with Rev. Dave Sterk and parish assistant Judy Coffey officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery in Cadillac. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Burkholder Funeral Home in McBain, and 10 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the trust fund for Logan Michael Finstrom.
