I don't recall Mr. Paulsen's subject..............Perhap Social Studies?..........But he taught a special short class that  provided the most useful life information I ever received in high-school. He taught about banking (checking & savings accounts), managing and living on a budget and balancing a check book. After college I ran into a number of adults, including a roommate, who didn't know how to balance a checkbook. They were contantly bouncing checks because their ATM told them they had money but didn't included outstanding checks. Once we  listened to records and discussed the social messages the artists of our generation were addressing. Pretty cool...........He also drove a Mercury Cougar........ Pretty cool also........A very nice man who treated us really well.

I had Mr. Paulson in my 9th-grade Social Studies class. During that time I was part of a model UN class. Mr. Paulson was a good teacher at a time when the war in Vietnam was at its peak. The invasion of Cambodia was underway, and it seemed like the Vietnam War would last forever. He had a more modern look and style which made him interesting. Like so many people that I enjoyed, I am sorry I did not get to know him better.
