I was a part-time working mom most of my life, spending the last 12 years doing blood banking. In 2000, I became a Realtor with Coldwell Banker. It was a huge change and at times a fulfilling career as I got to work with people.
In 2005, we retired to an over 55 community in Central Florida (Del Webb Spruce Creek Golf & Country Club). I enjoy my retirement with activities such as genealogy, water aerobics, garden club, and church activities. I continue to have good health and keep up with my many friends and six siblings and their families. Since I came from a farm family, I have really enjoyed my gardening and Florida has year round opportunities to add color to my life. Life is good!
April 12, 2022 I have been thinking of updating my website area for years. On June 8, 2018 I lost my husband Chuck very suddenly. He had a few illnesses but a December fall getting the Christmas tree down from the attic was his downfall. He suffered a compound fracture of his left ankle. He doctored on it for almost 3 years but had other problems. His golfing days were over. We never drove back to Pittsburgh. I am getting along alright, but I need to pay to have all kinds of things around the house. After he passed, I had 3 operations in a row. However, I keep very busy with all kinds of area clubs and church activities. Because of neuropathy, I use a seated walker all the time, but I am a real trouper! I just keep going, driving, shopping and on and on. Del Webb continues to be a great community to age in.
I keep up with all my siblings, my kids, grandsons, nieces and nephews and in-laws. All 3 of by brothers have sadly passed and I miss them and Chuck every day. I am close to 2 of my sister-in-laws, especially Elaine Libb in Canfield. I still work on my Genealogy and have found out so much about my families. I do not think I will ever complete the search. One detail I found recently is that in the whole country, there are just 142 persons with the last name (surname) of Libb. My sister Joyce and her husband Jack live in Sebring, FL They come to visit me every 2 or 3 months. Her kids and grandchildren keep moving to Florida. Roberta an her husband Ron live in Marblehead, Ohio on Lake Erie. My sister Rita and her husband Tom live in Salem, Ohio. Her daughter Tina lives nearby. My daughter Annette and family live in Boston, MA. Mitch, a bachelor, lives near State College, PA. All of our sisters have turned white, and my brothers, as they aged, were getting bald. All of our family farms were sold, and us kids did not benefit AT ALL. That is another story that you don't want to read. Here is hoping that all of you who are reading my long-winded message, are doing well.
