Bill was my brother and went home to the Lord.  His wife, Peg Reese, also went to Canfield but I can't remember her class.  At his funeral nearly a thousand friends and family paid their last respects. His passing was a shock and he is really missed.  I had been with them New Year's Eve and left around 2pm to go back to NC to visit my daughter.  Bill was fine and had all kinds of plans for his retirement.  He had surgery on his toe a month before and a blood clot moved up his leg and caught in his lung causing his death early New Year's day.
May the Lord bless you and keep you.

I've tried to add this comment several times, but seem to be making stupid errors (my part, not the system).  Anyway, after all the work the team did to locate people we hadn't been able to find, there was one, considering the circumstances, that I regret having found.  Bill was a great friend during our Junior and Senior years at CHS, but as they say, "we each followed our own paths."  I could never regret having known him.

Bill & I grew up together as neighbors and best friends from the 5th grade. I was in the 1960 graduating class. The only thing I thought I knew was music so I started college at the Dana School of Music at YSU. I couldn't get into the program and left YSU. Bill graduated in 1961 and during that summer he said to me you were always good at math why don't you try it with me. Bill wanted to go summer, fall, and winter schedules so I decided to give it a try with him. We finished school in December of 1964 and graduated at the end of the spring semester.

Bill was extremely smart and I barely made it. My whole life and career I owe to Bill for without him I would not have had an education or a career. Our careers turned out to be the same although we went separate ways. Bill went on to MSU for graduate work and I went with him but decided not to continue with a masters.

I want to Thank You Bill for what you did for me. I have often thought and talked about our unique friendship. May God bless and keep you.
