Theresa Huber VIEW PROFILE

Theresa Marie Huber Saunders,41 of Candler, passed away Monday, April 5th, 2004 at Mission Hospital. Though born August 11, 1962, in metropolitan South Florida she was a country girl at heart and gladly called the mountains of Western North Carolina her home since she was 15. She was the daughter of Arthur and Amy Huber, Sr. of Cruso, NC and the daughter-in-law of Don(now deceased) and Colleen Saunders of Asheville. Theresa graduated from Pisgah High School in 1980 where she served as Senior Class Treasure, and then from the UNCG in 1984 with a Bachelors Degree in Nursing. Theresa worked at Mission Hospital in Asheville, where she held various nursing positions, from operating room to the recovery ward.

Theresa, a dedicated wife and mother, is survived by her husband and best friend, Todd Saunders; her four children, Megan, Seth, Justin, and Nathan, ages 15,14,11,7. Her mother and father; five brothers and sisters, Art Huber Jr. of Georgia, Eric of Cruso, Kari of Burlington, NC, Billy of Canton, Ga. and Michelle of Pittsboro, NC.

Theresa spent time in Honduras ministering to children with medical needs. Theresa loved life but she loved the Lord more. She brightened every room she entered with her smile and left a lasting glow long after she left. She embraced life with zest and intensity. Theresa was proud of her children, her husband and her extended family her great compassionate heart she communicated love to everyone she met. She was cherished in turn, by family,friends and co- workers alike. She will be sorely missed, but we know she is singing and dancing with her dear Jesus, giving glory to God, in life forever.

I always remember Teresa with that beautiful smile. I don't think she had an enemy. As we are getting ready to celebrate our 30 year class reunion we will sadly miss all the classmates that will not be with us in person. But we know that they are with us in spirit. We will always remember them.

I will always remember seeing Theresa's sweet smile when I woke up in the recovery room at Mission after one of my surgeries. I told her she looked the same as she had in school, and she laughed and said she must have given me too much Demerol.
