Thomas Jordan McGoldrick
APRIL 5, 1951 – MARCH 18, 2022
IN THE CARE OF
Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Homes & Cremation Services
Thomas Jordan McGoldrick, 70, unexpectedly passed away March 18, 2022, in Venice, Florida. He was born April 5, 1951, in Indianapolis to the late Thomas Edward and Suzanne McGoldrick.
Anatural born leader and athlete, Tom graduated from Carmel High School in the class of 1969 with numerous accolades. Among others, he served as President of Student Council, had the honor to represent Carmel High School at Boys State, and ran the second leg of the winning 4x100 meter relay in the State Track and Field Championships.
Tom attended Purdue University where he received his bachelor’s degree and Master’s of Science in Industrial Administration. He went on to have an illustrious career in computer science and information technology which culminated in his position as Chief Information Officer at Clarke American. During his tenure, the company won the U.S. Commerce Department’s Malcom Baldrige Award for manufacturing excellence in 2001 which remained one of his most proud accomplishments. After 28 years in the corporate world, Tom embarked on a new entrepreneurial challenge that combined his business acumen with his love of animals. Tom and Sue Ann purchased Paws In Heaven and lovingly grew the business to become the largest pet crematory and funeral home in South Central Texas, prior to retirement in 2017.
From a young age Tom was a sports aficionado. After competing as an athlete in baseball, basketball and track, he remained active by running, weightlifting and continued swimming throughout retirement. He shared his passion for athletics with his family as he coached and encouraged his children throughout their various disciplines. Tom followed all sports but particularly enjoyed professional baseball, collegiate and professional basketball, and NASCAR racing.
Tom is remembered as a kind and compassionate provider for his family who inspired others through his wealth of knowledge and attitude for hard work. He was a fan of broad, slapstick comedy who loved a good “clown around.” His big heart and friendly nature made him a friend to many in the community. Our loss and grief are overwhelming.
A local memorial service will be held Friday, March 25, 2022, 3 p.m. – 4 p.m. in the Library Room of The Plantation Country Club. A second memorial service in celebration of his life will be held in San Antonio, Texas in the coming months.
Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Sue Ann, children Thomas R (Lisa) McGoldrick, Sarah (Chris) Saenz, Meghann McGoldrick, Chad (Cindy) Brightman, Allison (Clint) Wynn; brother James E. (Carol) McGoldrick; nephew Jim (Brandi) McGoldrick, niece Kelly McGoldrick; 8 grandchildren.

Tom was a great leader and I was privileged to call him ‘boss’ for many years at Clarke American. My thoughts and prayers are with the McGoldrick family. God Bless, Holli Fillinger

Tom was one of the kindest men I ever knew in my life and definitely the best boss I ever had. He was a great mentor, friend, confidant and supporter. He helped me through some rough waters while I worked for him and always, always encouraged me. I am so sorry for Sue Ann and the family. He will be greatly missed.

From John Aurelius:
It is with a heavy heart that I have to report the passing of our dear friend Butch ( Gene ) Hoffman , I don’t know many details yet but his oldest son David found him this morning .
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have some terrible news to report. Connie Irwin lost her 1st grandchild Justice to a deliberate hit and run with a motor vehicle last night. Connie contacted me this afternoon and wanted me to relay this news to our class.
Tonight they are having a candlelight vigil 9pm at the scene of the crime. Channel 6 will be there.
Sorry to let you all know so late but I just got home from work. They have set up a GoFundMe on Facebook.
Please keep Connie and her family in your prayers. This is something no family should have to deal with...ever.

Strange happenings when weentered 2020. Lots of history in the making.
We can think of it that way. We are all
hoping everyone is feeling good as can be
and not affected by this virus.
Staying at home has had advantages..projects never had time before to do are getting
done but we are missing our families and
friends. Can't wait till we can get together
soon...if just in small groups with a little
distance between us. Summer is almost
Here!
yI want to share this with all of us '69ers...a friend of mine said after looking at all the photos from our reunion nights, that she could see the love between us all and none of us looked like we were one uping another. She remarked how everybody looked so relaxed as if we'd been together every day for the past 50 years. Very true observation! That is what we love about our great class of 1969!
A big thank you shout out to Gregg Happe for once again financially supplying our class with another 5 years for our class website thru Class
Please share your memories and photos of our first Junior High School!
