Retta Batty Davis passed away September 30, 2021 from COVID. Retta was born in Kanarraville to Willard and Alva Batty.  Retta, along with her siblings, DeLowa, Elaine, John, Travis, and Carolyn attended elementary school in Kanarra.  Retta graduated from Cedar High in 1963.  

She married Allen Davis who was also from Kanarra.  They had a son Tracy, daughters Hollie, Misti, and Rachel. Retta lived in Las Vegas, Nevada for many years.  After Alan passed away, and Retta's mother was not well, Retta wanted to move back to Kanarra to help take care of her mother.  Her son, Tracy, was in the process of building Retta a new home in Kanarra when he suddenly passed away.  She struggled to get the house finished, sold her home in Las Vegas, and moved back to Utah.

Retta was active in the Kanarra Historical Society, loved history and genealogy. She was always joking and encouraging others.  In her last hours, she told the hospital staff to keep smiling and stay positive.
