Abby Dekker DeWeerd

After graduation I attended Dordt College in Iowa and got my degree in Elementary Education. I met my husband Jeff there, and in June, 2002 we were married in Az. He is a farm boy from Iowa so I had to sweet talk him into moving to Arizona. I taught 2nd grade for one year, and then Kindergarten for 3 years. In the meantime we had McKenna Marie, born in 2004, followed by Kylan Jeffrey in 2006. Baby #3 is on the way, due to arrive September 1st. About a year ago Jeff accepted a job back in his hometown in Iowa so we loaded up and moved out. It was quite an adjustment! Especially for me. We had to live with Jeff's parents for 9 months while our house was being built, so the kids had plenty of farm life fun in the meantime. We do not live on a farm now but the kids love visiting...which is much better according to mom! I am currently doing in home daycare which allows me to stay home with our kids. We miss Arizona, me most!

One of my favorite school memories is when we had our class meeting Sr. year about our class trip, and Mrs. Wilke, one of our class sponsors stormed in before it began and said she didn't like our class, she never had, and she was NOT going on our class trip and then stormed out! How funny was that!!
