At the age of 34, Carol died from cancer in March 1985. She lived in South Charleston and was married to classmate Jim Jarrell. She and Jim had two sons, Matthew and Paxton. Carol graduated from Marshall University and became a teacher. She taught English at Charleston Catholic for a couple of years. Carol is remembered by classmates for her graceful manner and strong character. She also loved Henri Mancini when she was in the 8th grade at St. Francis.
