Meg died in Durham North Carolina on January 3, 2003 at age 53 from heart and kidney failure among other health issues. She left behind a daughter, Rachel. Meg’s brother Bill Robinson remembers that Meg never lost her sense of humor or her optimistic attitude toward life.
