Sonny was quite a dancer! No wonder because his mother was a well-respected dance teacher in Charlotte. I can remember watching Sonny perform in a couple of special events outside of school. Certainly we can all remember watching him dance in the cafeteria! It seemed to me Sonny really enjoyed life!

Sonny and I were very  good friends for years beginning in about 5th grade. He was very talented musically. Afunny and fun loving guy.

My best memory of him was when we were 15 and I spent the night at his house. Late at night, after his parents had gone to bed, we got the car keys, rolled the family car out of the driveway and down the street and took a nice joy ride!. That was typical Sonny!

Sonny died 12-7-1998. I was able to attend the funeral at United Methodist Church(Charlotte) and am Glad I was there. Few people were. I know his mother Marian appreciated me coming because she hugged me and wouldn't let go for what seemed like a long time.

God bless you Sonny. I hope to see you again someday in Paradise!

Sonny, how could anyone not remember you even going back to Jr. High School.  You use to pick on me in Jr. Hi.  seems you were at the desk behind me in Algebra  and was always asking for gum , so one day I gave you a piece of gum , only it was HOT gum, you jumped up in class and ran out to get water.  Sorry about that!  I  guess we just picked on each other.  I would have been there at your funeral had I known,.  I can believe it about  the car with your friend, you were full of life and alot of fun to be around!
